The Lead Structural / Thermal Analysis Engineer mentors a team of engineers, approves the technical work of other engineers, and helps create standardized analysis processes for the team. This role supports clean sheet turbomachinery design as part of our project execution from inception to shipment. The Lead Engineer will not have direct reports but is tasked with ownership of the technical execution on projects and improving the overall technical capability of the team. The position requires a deep understanding of the analytical approach for rotating equipment, including but not limited to: FEA, Rotordynamics, thermal analysis, structural analysis, modal analysis, random vibration, bolt design, allowable proof pressure, low and high cycle fatigue, fracture critical component analysis, and damage tolerance.Key Results Areas:Create standard processes for structural and thermal analytical efforts to meet all requirements, including technical capability, schedule milestones, and budgetary constraints.Identify and resolve technical challenges through deep technical turbomachinery knowledge while increasing the technical capability of other engineers on the team.Effectively lead a team environment to drive organizational success and improve BN processes.RequirementsQualifications:Education and Training:· Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience in a high aptitude engineering and manufacturing environment.Experience:· Minimum eight plus years related experience.· Proven rotating machinery expertise and experience with associated systems.· Comprehensive understanding of rotating machinery design and analysis correlation to test data.Other:· Must be willing to work overtime as required.· Travel up to 10% of working time.Desired Job Qualification:· Experience in Ansys, XLRotor, and Solidworks.Skills:To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:Proficient in specialized engineering application software such as SolidWorks, ANSYS, CFX, etc.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong organizational and time management skills.High attention to detail.ITAR Requirements:
