Business partners appreciate our insight and trust us to help them solve difficult problems.The Finance & Strategy Lead role will play an integral part in AllTrails’ success by building and mentoring a high-performing team capable of providing strategic decision support, forecasting, and financial planning & reporting.The ability to come into the SF HQ office 1x a week is strongly preferred.Job Responsibilities:As a key business partner, you will play a critical role tackling the following responsibilities below:Strategic Decision SupportWe are the analytic advisor to our business partners. Responsibilities will include analytics initiatives such as financial modeling, customer LTV analysis, product/competitive landscape benchmarking, identifying and analyzing relevant business metrics, and other data-driven analysis in support of key business / product decisions.ForecastingWe use data to predict short-term and long-term trends for making strategic decisions. We have intimate knowledge of the data available and actively mine it from our databases and dashboards. We build models in Excel and Google Sheets to understand complex relationships between variables and analyze variances to drive deeper insights.Financial Planning & ReportingWe have an intimate understanding of AllTrails’ business. We gain this by regularly partnering with business functions (e.g. Data Analytics, Marketing, Product, Finance/Accounting and others) to analyze and report on the financial impact of decisions across the company. We support our business partners to manage their budgets and ensure they have assessed the impact of current and future marketing, product development and other investment initiatives.Building & MentoringWe have the opportunity to create a collaborative, responsive and impactful team that the organization relies upon. A successful Finance & Strategy Lead will build and develop the capabilities of the team. Lead by example and go beyond the expected to assure the success of all involved.Qualifications:

6-10 years of relevant industry experience with financial modeling (e.g. investment banking, strategy consulting, corporate finance)

Experience in consumer internet, subscriptions, software, social media, ecommerce and marketplace industries is an advantage

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

A highly analytical and inquisitive work style with a keen attention to detail -- but also ability to see the big picture

Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

Proficiency in Excel. Experience with data visualization software such as Looker and Tableau a plus

What You'll Be Doing:

Support the budgeting and planning process by maintaining detailed revenue and financial models, subsequently performing budget variance analysis at a monthly cadence

Work cross-functionally to build and maintain performance reporting / KPI dashboards for various departments using SQL and BI tools

Compose weekly, monthly and quarterly financial reporting both internally for leadership team and externally for the board and investors - from raw data pull to polished presentation

Assist with ad-hoc strategic and KPI analysis

Support corporate development such as acquisitions, partnerships analysis

Requirements:

2+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity or venture capital, preferably with a focus on software & internet OR

2+ years of experience performing financial analysis, strategy or data analytics at a tech company

Advanced analytical skills, including expertise in Excel and knowledge of SQL and BI tools (Tableau, Looker, Amplitude, etc.)

Strong attention to detail

Meticulous presentation skills with a penchant for illustrating quantitative and qualitative information clearly and aesthetically

Proven track record of hitting goals and succeeding in a team environment

Cross functional team player with a track record of building positive relationships with peers and others within your company

Expert communication skills, including the ability to persuade and inspire, a knack for breaking down complex concepts, and a proactive attitude towards knowledge sharing

Ability to deal with ambiguity and a need for little to no guidance

Passion for the outdoors

Humility, empathy and open-mindedness - no egos

Bonus Points:

Bottoms-up, cohorted subscription revenue financial modeling experience

B2C mobile subscription software or internet company experience

Direct interactions with analytical presentations to seasoned board members and executives
