Position SummaryReporting to Busey's President of Consumer and Digital Banking, the Director of Retail Banking ("Director") is the lead executive responsible for the overall direction and execution of Busey's Retail Banking strategic initiatives, achieving the financial goals of the Organization. This director is accountable for sales and service productivity, efficient and compliant operations, and providing a superior customer experience within all the Consumer Banking Centers throughout Busey's footprint. The role will engage the Regional Managers and their direct reports to promote customer growth and expansion through the delivery of deposit products, fee-based services, loan products, and referrals to other lines of business within the Bank. This leader will develop budgets and goals for all Banking Centers, achieving those goals and financial metrics. They will partner with other Consumer leaders on physical location strategies, ATM placements, and digital technology considerations and implementations.Duties & ResponsibilitiesLead a team of Regional Managers throughout the Busey Banking Center footprint.Meet regularly, in market, with each Regional Manager and their teams.Develop budgets, financial metrics, and scorecards for Retail Banking operations to measure success against defined goals and targets.Set strategies to achieve defined targets and goals including the development of incentive plans, team and individual goals, and staffing structures.Build and enhance the Banking Center Management Team through developmental plans and coaching, in cooperation with the Director of Customer Experience.In partnership with the Training and Service Delivery teams, ensure that all frontline associates and management understand new programs, procedures, and policies; actively focus on customer service standards being cohesive across the Consumer line of business; includes conversion of acquired institutions by conducting operational training including core systems, products, and procedures; supply post-conversion support to assigned Banking Centers and Banking Center Management.Work with Regional Managers to adhere to Bank staffing models.Establish and facilitate regular sales and staff meetings, promoting participation of all Regional, Market, Sales and Service, and Banking Center Managers.Ensure all staff receive proper training to demonstrate the ability to acquire new customers, deepen relationships with all customers, and provide exemplary service at all times.Ensure that Bank policies and standard operating procedures are consistently and uniformly applied by all Retail Staff.Resolve staffing issues, working with appropriate HR partners.Create a culture that attracts, retains, and grows a team that values diversity, inclusion, and engagement.Provide employees with timely, candid, and constructive feedback.Education & ExperienceKnowledge of:Busey's lines of business and financial services industry overall.Analytical skills and techniques to lead the entire range of problem-solving work from problem definition to analysis, recommendation, and the development of implementation plans.Excellent project and time management skills.Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.Strong oral and written communication skills.Ability to:Regularly travel to all markets within footprint.Develop new procedures and approaches to solve problems.Make independent decisions for which there are not always precedents.Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships at all levels throughout the organization.Take reasonable care to prevent loss to the organization.Education and Training:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required; 10 or more years of banking, sales, and leadership experience required.Requires advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.Busey values a diverse and inclusive workplace and strives to recruit, develop and retain individuals with exceptional talent.
