This individual is responsible for the assignment of work to the Benefits Payment team that provides taxation advice to clients and partners relating to tax and retirement planning, trust, and/or investment products.Major Duties:Responsible for workflow distribution and the effective use of resources within the team.Provide on-the-job technical training and coaching for all team members and brief staff regularly on issues relating to work carried out by the team and new initiatives.Ensure that clear resolution of client escalations are provided regarding benefits payments products, taxation and retirement planning.Carries out complex activities with significant financial, client, and/or internal business impact.Organizes the work of the team, assigns tasks, sets short-term priorities, monitors all activities and ensures timely and accurate completion of the work.May have direct interaction with committees and/or Senior Management.Able to facilitate discussions and reach decisions.Conducts performance management and career development processes, and staffing and disciplinary actions.Provides input and support to budget management process.Experience and Abilities:A College or University degree and/or some relevant work experience is preferred.Leadership and organizational skills are needed to prioritize assignments and provide feedback to staff.Related Industry qualification/or studying towards, is preferred.Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.Analytical and problem-solving skills are required.Ability to set priorities and manage deadlines, escalating issues where necessary.Good team player, self-starter, flexible, with the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.Working with Us:As a Northern Trust partner, greater achievements await.
