We invest in and prioritize workflow (i.e., usability and interface design) and backend AI systems. Since the translation workforce is distributed worldwide, there are interesting cloud engineering problems to solve. We have a strong preference for building our own backend technology, so you’ll be implementing and working with the latest natural language processing (NLP) techniques and ideas.Where You’ll WorkThis position is based out of our Washington D.C area and will be expected to work in the office in a hybrid capacity to be determined in the near future.What You’ll DoAs a Staff Fullstack Engineer, you will work with a group of talented, mission-driven colleagues to propose ideas to define, drive, and execute projects on Lilt’s Linguist GUI, App Server, and backend systems. You will enable linguists to deliver truly localized experiences. Engineering is at the forefront of the company strategy, therefore this is a high-visibility, high-impact role with enormous growth opportunities.You must be curious, have attention to detail, be energized by a challenging entrepreneurial environment, be comfortable thinking big while also diving deep, and be open to experimenting and iterating on processes as the company grows.Authorization to work in the US is a precondition of employment.Skills and ExperienceBachelor of Science or Masters of Science in Computer Science (Masters preferred)TS/SCI Clearance preferred, or willingness to obtain and maintain.7+ years of professional experience as a Fullstack engineerExperience leading an engineering team in a technical capacity (e.g. not a manager of people)Experience working on large-scale, distributed software systemsProficient in React or other associated libraries, JavaScript, CSS, and HTMLExperience with backend technologies such as Java and PythonSolid relational database knowledge and significant experience with very large MySQL installations are highly valuedBasic knowledge of NLP and machine learning techniques is highly valuedProfessional fluency in EnglishBenefits:Compensation: At market salary, meaningful equity, 401(k) matching, and flexible time off plus company holidaysMedical Benefits: Employees receive coverage of medical, dental, and vision insurance, plus FSA/DFSA, HSA, and Commuter benefits.
