Make a difference every day!Job Description:The Director, Transactions position is based in San Francisco and will be responsible for sourcing, originating and negotiating to close both equity and structured credit (in collaboration with Invesco’s debt origination team) investments within the Northwestern United States markets (Northern CA, Northern NV, CO, OR, WA).The Director, Transactions serves as the primary contact between Invesco and the broad real estate capital market community within the specified geographic region on all matters related to sourcing of new investment opportunities. This role also requires promoting Invesco’s brand and corporate reputation through our professional stature and company performance. The role will report to the regional group head.Key Responsibilities / Duties:Source, structure, and negotiate investment opportunities that are appropriate for a broad array of capital and investment strategies, ranging from core to value add to opportunistic, including joint ventures, general partnerships, and operating companies.Collaborate with Invesco’s debt origination team to source structured credit opportunities.Serve as a key representative of the Invesco brand, participating in industry trade groups and other key relational real estate organizations.Solicit, develop, and maintain strategic relationships with key owners, operators, developers, and intermediaries in the marketplace.Perform regular market visits and property tours to understand market drivers and support overall sourcing strategy.Provide thought leadership with the underwriting, due diligence, and closing of sourced investments.Lead presentation of investment opportunities to Invesco’s investment committee, collaborating via a team approach to communicate the merits and risks of prospective investments.Present investment opportunities to internal portfolio managers and aid in the ongoing monitoring of investments post-close.Contribute to the formulation of Invesco’s specific investment strategies and approaches to sourcing within the appropriate geographic regions and property sectors. Contribute to development of specific investment strategies across varying risk spectrums.Interact with Invesco clients on a regular basis and participate in client presentations and capital raising initiatives.Develop and mentor Transaction Analytics team members.Other duties as assigned.Work Experience / Knowledge:Minimum of 7 years of direct real estate transaction experience.Deep and verifiable market relationships, preferably in the Northwestern United States.A thorough understanding of real estate investment fundamentals, market trends and corporate finance are a necessity.Ability to formulate specific business plans to source and close transactions.Track record of identifying off-market transactions.Skills / Other Personal Attributes Required:Highly motivated with a strong record of academic and professional achievement.Sophisticated relational and communication skills.Self-motivated, high energy personality that works well in a team environment.Strong organizational skills.High level of integrity.Desire and willingness to spend a significant time on the road and in the markets.Formal Education:Undergraduate degree required, advanced degree or CFA designation preferred but not required.Working Conditions:Normal office environment with little exposure to noise, dust, and temperatures.The ability to lift, carry or otherwise move objects of up to 10 pounds is also necessary.Travel may be required.Compensation:The total compensation offered for this position, which includes salary and incentive pay, will vary based on skills, experience and location.
