to join the
ERM
team in
Walnut Creek, CA or Sacramento, CA.
This is a partner-track opportunity for an air quality professional looking to further advance their career with a global environmental leader and to make a significant impact in successfully implementing ERM's global strategy.

With annual global sales in excess of $50 million, ERM’s Air Quality Service Area is one of the largest among its peers in our industry and is steadily growing at a double-digit pace.
As a senior leader on this team, you will be fully accountable for successfully selling and consulting for air quality and compliance projects to build a sustainable business locally, while networking with ERM's global Air Quality Technical Team to share best practices across the industry. The ideal candidate will be well connected in the regulatory and air permitting community and have established relationships and technical abilities in the refinery sector, with additional experience with technology, chemical, and/or manufacturing companies.
Responsibilities:
Contribute to the development and implementation of a strategic market/business plan, provide leadership, and deliver financial results to expand ERM's Air Quality Service Area and client base, particularly in the oil & gas (downstream), technology, chemical, or manufacturing sectors.
Serve as a Senior expert for strategic air permits and compliance programs for a variety of industrial clients with complex technical/regulatory issues.
Manage project deliverables, budgets, and schedules as a lead for our existing teams.
As a “seller/doer,” contribute to expanding ERM’s air consulting and compliance services annually.
Mentor junior and mid-level staff in the proper planning and execution of air quality projects.
Support the general growth and development of ERM’s Global Air Quality Services.
Develop a working understanding of ERM’s other consulting service areas and actively support cross-selling these services to existing clients.
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in chemical, environmental, or mechanical engineering or related degree.
6+ years' experience of solid air quality consulting experience.
Knowledge of local, state, and federal air regulations.
Ability to lead and grow the business in a dynamic market environment.
Strong track record of managing project deliverables, schedule, and budgets.
In-depth understanding of the oil & gas, manufacturing, technology, or chemical industries in California.
Consistent "seller/doer" track record.
Excellent communication (written/verbal), strategic thinking, negotiation, presentation, and “people” skills.
Positive outlook, collaborative, and driven by the success of ERM as a global company.
Preferred but not required:
Preferred 8+ years’ experience of solid air quality consulting experience.
Certification in field: P.E., CSP, CHMM, or similar registration.
Familiarity with stack testing and ambient air measurements.
Advanced knowledge of environmental compliance-related areas.
For the
Principal Consultant, Air Quality
position, we anticipate the annual base pay of
$115,002 – $126,604 USD . This job is also eligible for an annual discretionary based performance bonus.
