Description:The FOIA Bureau is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Attorney General to serve as a Freedom of Information Act Officer. The FOIA Officer would be responsible for receiving, assessing, and subsequently responding to requests made under the Freedom of Information Act. The FOIA Officer will review all FOIA requests addressed to the Office of the Illinois Attorney General and work with the appropriate division or bureau to determine the appropriate response. The FOIA Officer will respond to correspondence in accordance with FOIA and handle correspondence with the appropriate skill and care that ensures legal compliance. Additionally, the FOIA Officer will conduct internal research to locate all paper and electronic records held that relate to particular requests.Skills:Candidates must be licensed in Illinois at the time of application. The ability to work under pressure and prioritize workload effectively to meet compliance deadlines is essential. This position requires precise and effective oral and written communication skills.Salary:
