Summary:Our client is looking for a highly skilled, motivated, and creative analytical scientist to join their Vaccine Product Development organization as Scientist I within Protein Development and Clinical Manufacturing. The Analytical Scientist I will assume a critical role in developing and executing key analytical methods to support the measurement of titer, impurities, and product quality for in-process intermediates. The successful candidate will support the set-up of analytical capabilities within the protein process development group, develop/optimize and qualify in-process analytical methods, and apply the methods for process characterization. This position is primarily lab-based and will require excellent scientific judgment, independence, rigor, and thorough record-keeping.Essential Functions:Set up instrument capabilities to enable analytical methods development and qualification for process characterization.Develop/optimize analytical methods for biologic products using HPLC (size exclusion, ion exchange, reversed phase, etc.), CE-SDS, PicoGreen, Capillary Western (Jess), A280, mass spectrometry, etc.Acquire and interpret data for protein titer, molecule characterization, and process development studies.Maintain good documentation practices for recording experimental plans and results in an electronic lab notebook and associated reports.Assist in troubleshooting instrumentation and test methods.Able to work well independently and in a team setting on assigned tasks, such as method development and sample testing.Participate in group meetings, present results of work, interpret data, and report results accurately.Work with lab automation to create high-throughput methods leveraging liquid handling and robotic technologies.Collaborate with other scientists/SMEs to design experiments and advance more powerful analytical techniques.Requirements:PhD with 0-2 years of experience, or B.S. in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field with 8+ years of relevant industry experience; MS with 5+ years of industry experience in Pharma/Biotech industry required.Strong technical background in analytical chemistry with hands-on proficiency in HPLC, CE-SDS, Spectroscopy, etc.Perform accurate and reliable data analysis and interpretation of experimental results related to process characterization.Ability to think critically and demonstrate troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Maintain accurate records of experimental procedures, results, and conclusions in compliance with regulatory guidelines.Team player, proactive, and willing to work in a collaborative team environment.Scientific creativity and curiosity for applying new technologies to complex analytical challenges.All employees require vaccination against COVID-19.Reports to:
