Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.NGMS is seeking a Principal Electronics Engineer with the desire to learn new technologies to join our innovative AMC Restricted Engineering team to help develop, enhance and maintain test hardware on cutting edge products and systems. Join a design community that offers unique design challenges and work closely with multiple engineering disciplines including Hardware, Firmware, Software, Mechanical Design, Systems Engineering, etc.The ideal candidate is a self-driven problem solver. Employee will support the entire product lifecycle development, from design & implementation through flight test and debugging to ensure that product requirements are met. They will work closely with systems engineers, hardware design engineers, software engineers, and customers, troubleshooting and correcting root causes of various system level issues.Additionally, the selected individual will conduct reviews of hardware related products, hardware designs, and technical documents. The responsibilities include active participation in Integrated Product Teams (IPT), design reviews, and other reviews, as required. The selected individual will actively participate in the technical peer reviews to ensure system/hardware requirements are being met from an end to end system point of view. Individuals must be self-starters and able to efficiently operate in a team environment. The selected individuals will be expected to prioritize and make recommendations to Technical Leads, as required.This position is located in Baltimore, MD.The Principal Electronics Engineer position requires a mix of Test Fixture and Software design skills. Experience with DC, Analog, Digital & RF test & measurement equipment; and a hands-on approach to troubleshooting complex electronic systems. Typical Roles and Responsibilities include:Understanding design to cost, scope, and scheduleRequirements definitionDesign of electromechanical test fixture & software test solutionsManufacturing support during the hardware build processIntegration of test fixtures & software into a functioning test solutionTest equipment & software certification per customer requirementsTest system deployment and factory supportSoftware maintenance and/or hardware fixture update initiativesBasic Qualifications Principal Electronics Engineer:You must satisfy one of the following education/experience criteria to be considered for this position:Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5 years' experience, Master's degree in STEM with 3 years' experience, Ph.D degree in STEM with 0 years' experiencePlus:The ability to read and interpret specifications, schematics and block diagramsMix of hardware and software skillsExperience in text based programming (e.g. C / C++)Background and working knowledge in RF theory and conceptsEffective verbal and written communicationExperience with test & measurement equipmentAbility to obtain and maintain a Secret ClearancePreferred Qualifications:Advanced degree in Engineering or related STEM disciplineTest design and integration backgroundAbility to work with minimal direction and guidanceExperience with LabWindows CVI, C/C++ programmingLabVIEW programmingExperience with schematic design tools (e.g. Mentor Graphics, Zuken, etc.)Proficiency with digital, analog, RF test equipment, RF theory and high speed digital designFamiliarity with differential digital interfaces like LVDS - PXI/PXIe and VME bus experienceHands-on troubleshooting of electronic hardwareActive clearanceSalary Range:

$102,400 - $153,600The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
