Position Summary PACCAR’s Embedded Engineering department has an opening for an Application Software Engineer in the Autonomous Vehicle Program team. Successful candidates for this role will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, possess the ability to learn quickly and strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment. Job Functions / Responsibilities Define the embedded system specifications, performance targets, and system interfaces. Strong embedded systems knowledge and hands-on experience in memory management strategies. Hands-on experience with software development tools (Matlab/Simulink). Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Java, or Python, and experience with embedded software development. Experience with version control tools (SVN/GIT). Develop high-level software architectures for embedded applications, ensuring scalability, flexibility, and modularity. Proven experience in software architecture and development for automotive embedded systems or related domains. Excellent problem-solving skills, creativity, and the ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Participate in the planning and tracking of software tasks. Test and implement software modifications to repair defects discovered during validation and testing. Lead embedded architecture and electrical integration support. Oversee the development of embedded software modules, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices. Ensure embedded software compliance with relevant automotive safety standards (ISO 26262). Develop comprehensive testing procedures and protocols to validate embedded software performance. Support embedded Function owners with functional definitions and systems design. Qualifications

Skills B.S. in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent required. 5-7 years in development & release of automotive or commercial vehicle software preferred. Proficiency with GIT/Java/C++/embedded Linux/Python is required. Experience with data structures, POSIX, Unity, and Open GL is a plus. Experience creating documentation including software requirements specifications. Willingness to grow personally and professionally in a team results-oriented environment.
