HDR is proud to be an employee-owned equal opportunity workplace and an affirmative action employer.HDR is seeking a Senior Site Civil Engineer for our Building Engineering Services Business Group located in Missouri in either our Kansas City or St. Louis office. Our team is an integrated facility and infrastructure design team consisting of core services of Mechanical, Electrical, Structural and Site Civil Engineering. This person will be responsible for designing facilities related sites in support of various markets including Datacenter, Healthcare, Water/Wastewater, Municipal, Industrial, Federal and Mission Critical buildings, and other infrastructure. HDR is looking for a Project Manager whose experience focuses on client development and delivery of these projects.The ideal candidate should have a proven background in successfully delivering various projects ranging from upfront planning and pre-design activities through detail design, construction support, and commissioning. They will be expected to coordinate and work closely with a multidiscipline design team throughout the entire life cycle of projects. Keen focus on organizational skills and follow-through are required to be successful in this role. This individual should be self-motivated, collaborative, and possess strong leadership skills with an initiative to deliver high quality, technically sound civil site designs.Primary ResponsibilitiesConduct early project development activities including site selection, due diligence, and site planningDesign and plan production for general civil on a wide variety of industrial, mission critical, and architectural projects, including site layouts, grading and drainage, paving, site utilities, and associated civil engineering activitiesConduct quantity calculationsPrepare specifications and contract documentsConduct permitting submittals to local authorities having jurisdictionPerform complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard engineering techniques and proceduresServe as a technical expert with recognized authority in an area of specialization that resolves problems of greater scope and complexity as neededPlan and develop projects or design activities that have significant impact on major company programs as neededPlan, organize and supervise work of a medium to large staff of professionals and technicians as neededServe as a Project Manager on larger projects, although project management is not the sole focus of this positionPerform other duties as neededPreferred QualificationsStrong operating knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D and Bluebeam RevuProficiency in modeling software such as Hydraflow, PCSWMM, PondPack, HydroCAD, Bentley StormCAD, or similar softwareWorking knowledge of Google communication products (gDrive, Chat, Docs, Sheets, and Slides)Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm desiredActive in area industry associationsLicensed as a professional engineer (PE) or landscape architecture (PLA) in the State of Missouri and Kansas or ability to acquire within six months of employmentDemonstrated experience in working with multi-disciplined teams of Architects, Engineers, and DesignersMust be skilled in communicating with clients, coordinating with sub-consultants, and delivering projects on time and within budgetPreference given to local candidatesRequired QualificationsA minimum of 10 years design experience managing various civil/site design projectsProfessional Engineer (PE) license.Experience with Microsoft Office applications, MicroStation, InRoads and other civil engineering software as appropriateProject Engineering and Project Management experienceAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustPrimary Location : United States-Missouri-Kansas CityOther Locations : United States-Missouri-St LouisSchedule : Full-timeEmployee Status : RegularBusiness Class: Building Site CivilAt HDR, we are committed to the principles of employment equity.We are an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.
