The mission of HSA-Belmont is to embrace and promote practices that bring together people of all cultures, backgrounds, abilities, and personal truths through our school’s core values. Our mission is a daily reminder of our ultimate journey towards inclusivity, equity, and global citizenship.Position Description:A teacher at HSA-Belmont will inspire young minds, build strong interpersonal relationships with students and share a commitment to ensuring that every child achieves their full potential. This person will:Design, prepare and deliver dynamic lesson plans and instructional materials that engage students in 21st century learning experiences.Provide opportunities that challenge students to think critically.Create a developmentally appropriate, positive, inclusive and safe learning environment.Utilize a restorative justice approach with discipline.Monitor progress to ensure all students are demonstrating high rates of growth.Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse social-emotional, cultural, economic and ability backgrounds.Work closely with team members and parents to best meet the needs of students.Develop and administer school elementary curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.Continue to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.Organize and maintain a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.Coordinate with other elementary professional staff members, especially within grade level, to evaluate and assess curriculum, and participate in faculty meetings and committees.Supervise students in activities that take place out of the classroom during the school day, including activities involving school transportation.Administer standardized tests in accordance with district testing programs.Requirements:Bachelor’s DegreeIllinois Professional Educators LicenseWhy Join the HSA-Belmont Team:We are a collaborative team of professionals supporting each other to instill a love of learning in our students.
