Cincinnati Hillel is seeking a dynamic

Director of Engagement

to join our team. As Director of Engagement, you will lead the engagement team to reach out to Jewish students on campus. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Engagement will create relationships with students while planning programs and creating a warm, welcoming environment for Jewish students on campus.

What You'll Do

Engagement

Develop and implement a strategic engagement model, fostering community among diverse Jewish groups.

Collaborate with student leaders and segments of the student body to build positive relationships, while developing personal connections with students.

Lead the development of diverse programming for Jewish students and engage less-involved students with meaningful opportunities.

Implement an effective student leadership model to meet the needs of students and programming.

Stakeholder and Community Relations

In conjunction with the Executive Director, share Hillel’s vision of Jewish life with all stakeholders, including students, staff, faculty, Board of Directors, alumni, parents, partner organizations, and Hillel's Schusterman International Center.

Serve as a representative of the Jewish community on campus.

Partner with staff and students to support pluralistic, inclusive, and innovative Jewish programming on campus.

Create effective communication channels for student engagement and program marketing.

Leading and Managing People

Serve as a supervisor to Springboard fellow and engagement interns/student leaders, providing guidance to their work and helping them grow as professionals.

Conduct bi-annual reviews of Engagement team to reflect on successes, challenges, and opportunities for growth.

Lead weekly engagement planning meetings.

Applied Education Skills

With the Student-Facing team help create and foster a pluralistic, inclusive, and innovative Jewish space for the students.

Inspiring Jewish Life

Foster a pluralistic and welcoming atmosphere.

Actively engage in Jewish experiences for personal and professional growth.

Facilitate meaningful conversations about Jewish life and identity.

Create innovative Jewish experiences to develop students’ identities.

Provide comprehensive education on Jewish traditions, holidays, culture, and Israel, ensuring diverse perspectives.

What You’ll Bring to the Job

Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of full-time professional work experience.

Confidence in developing and running initiatives and comfort in asking questions.

Desire to motivate student leaders to engage their peers, deepen their Jewish identities, and think innovatively about program content and marketing.

Proud to be a Jewish role model and an interest in learning how to be an effective educator.

A commitment to pluralism and comfort with your Jewish identity so you may act as a role model and mentor for emerging Jewish adults.

Supervisory experience preferred.

Superior oral and written communication skills.

Strong interpersonal skills.

Must be willing to work nights and occasional weekends.

What You’ll Receive

Competitive salary in the nonprofit marketplace. The salary range for this role is $50,000-$55,000.
