Senior Roadway Design EngineerAEI, a STV Company, is looking for a Full-Time Senior Civil Engineer in Transportation in our Lexington, Louisville, Glasgow, or Owensboro office. This position's primary role is to process projects from notice to proceed to final project closeout including plan development, scheduling, cost estimating, specifications, and related administrative duties. Duties also include supervision and guidance as they relate largely to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters. Consults with the Principal Project Engineer to resolve project related issues.
Responsibilities and Duties
Responsible for successful completion of assigned engineering projects. Apply intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to all projects assigned. Make decisions independently on engineering problems and methods and represent the company in conferences to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate work.
Plan, develop, coordinate, and direct the completion of assigned projects. Establish and maintain primary contact with clients. Prepare schedules to ensure projects are on time and within budget projections.
Determine technical and professional staffing needs; hire, train, manage and motivate personnel.
Establish and maintain quality and accuracy standards. Review and approve complete plans. Obtain approval of improvement plans and permitting by governing entities.
Take an active role in new business development.
Help with project scope and preparation of technical write-ups for proposals.
Oversee invoicing and collection of payments from clients for assigned projects. Review and approve invoices. Responsible for collecting outstanding receivables for jobs.
Supervise Engineers and Technicians as required. Work cooperatively with other managers and employees to achieve the company’s mission.
Qualifications and Skills
BS in Civil Engineering.
PE licensure in KY.
15 or more years’ experience of related experience.
Proficiency in oral and written communications.
Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and environments.
Other physical requirements – squatting, kneeling, climbing, walking certain distances.
Preferred Qualifications
State DOT design experience preferred.
Experience with KYTC Design Manual, Plan Preparation and CADD Standards preferred.
Experience with KYTC Highway Drainage Design Software and HEC-RAS, Stormcad, etc. preferred.
Experience or familiarity with OpenRoads Design (ORD), Microstation and InRoads preferred.
Experience in the delivery of projects for government agencies, and local municipalities.

Compensation Range: $123,159.00 - $164,211.00
