We are seeking a dedicated and qualified full-time Deputy Head of English Leader, as well as Cambridge Lower Secondary English, IGCSE and IB Language and Literature Teacher to join our dynamic educational institution. The candidate will be expected to create and deliver engaging lessons that captivate students' interests and foster a deep understanding of the core concepts within the realms of English. This encompasses not only conveying theoretical knowledge but also applying innovative teaching methodologies to cultivate critical thinking skills and real-world applicability. Additionally, as Deputy Head of Department, the candidate will play a pivotal role in leading and shaping the department's educational strategies and initiatives.
Your Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Ensure high-quality delivery of teaching and learning experiences aligned with the Cambridge Lower Secondary English, IGCSE and IB Language and Literature curriculum. Design and implement effective assessments that align with Cambridge Lower Secondary English, IGCSE and IB standards and accurately measure student understanding of English language and literature concepts. Exhibit expertise in developing innovative and engaging curriculum content, ensuring alignment with educational standards and the evolving needs of students in the digital age. Monitor and enhance student progress, welfare, and academic outcomes within the realm of English education. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their learning and academic growth. Take a proactive role in implementing school policies, with a specific focus on safeguarding and promoting equal opportunities for all students. Demonstrate strong leadership and mentoring skills, fostering a positive and collaborative environment within the English Department. Stay abreast of the latest developments and best practices in the field of Cambridge Lower Secondary English, IGCSE, and IB Language and Literature, and provide professional development opportunities to team members to foster a culture of continuous learning within the English Department. Possess advanced proficiency in technology, utilizing it effectively in both teaching methodologies and content creation for the English curriculum. Qualifications & Experience:
Possession of a recognized teaching qualification such as PGCE, PGDip, BA, MA, MBA, Qualified Teacher Status, or an equivalent teaching credential, along with documentation of ongoing professional development. Proven experience in teaching English at the IGCSE and IB Diploma levels. Demonstrated leadership skills with previous experience in a leadership or managerial role within an English Department. Familiarity with assessment practices related to Cambridge Lower Secondary, IGCSE and IB frameworks. Proven ability to mentor and support the professional growth of English faculty members, promoting a collaborative and enriching team environment. Strong organizational abilities to effectively coordinate departmental activities, implement curriculum enhancements, and lead professional development initiatives. Demonstrated ability to integrate technology and innovative teaching methods into the English curriculum. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with both colleagues and students.
