Job SummaryAssociate Product Manager, Digital Solutions (INOVA Diagnostics, Inc. d/b/a Werfen Autoimmunity, San Diego, CA): Will support the management and development of autoimmunity digital solutions products directed to Clinical Laboratories, including QUANTA Link information management system and ProDx remote service software. Will also support the development of the Precision Medicine project with artificial intelligence based clinical-decision-support algorithms which are key to the future success of the Autoimmunity business. Will act as the marketing liaison for cybersecurity-related matters for all products in the Autoimmunity portfolio.Key AccountabilitiesEstablish strong relationships with key stakeholders including R&D, Clinical Software, RA/QA, and Werfen affiliates and customers. Nurture existing relationships with global opinion leaders in autoimmune diagnostic testing and industry IT experts. Develop new relationships with individuals in areas of clinical and technical interest.Responsible for the QUANTA Link information management system (an essential component of the Werfen Autoimmunity “Integrated Laboratory” concept) regarding both on-market support and the roadmap for additional product development, including new software testing and release management.Identify and prioritize the market requirements with input from both internal and external stakeholders in managing the complete life cycle of autoimmunity digital solutions products.Play an integral role in defining the vision for the future of the digital autoimmunity laboratory by following multiple news and information sharing platforms closely and keeping up to date with IVD and healthcare industry trends and other growth opportunities from various industries.Work closely with R&D, Regulatory, and Clinical Software to champion the Precision Medicine project from a marketing perspective. Bridge the technical requirements, specifications and capabilities with big data and algorithm development to the requirements from a commercial standpoint. Incorporate the market and customer requirements gained through Voice of Customer (VOC) projects as well as understanding the current patient result ordering and reporting processes, with the computational specifications resulting in the definition and development of Precision Medicine “product”.Integrate autoimmunity requirements as part of the global Werfen corporate ProDx remote service software development and implementation project.Act as the cybersecurity expert in product management, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, current customer needs and the changing landscape on a global scale.Develop and implement the strategy for customers’ workflow analysis within the Autoimmunity scope, including developing tools for affiliates.Serve as QUANTA Link and Precision Medicine lead for key meetings and presentations with strong collaboration and leadership across the different teams to integrate and accelerate development and market development.Be confident working with multiple stakeholders cross functionally and in an international setting.Comply with applicable standard operating procedures (SOPs), ISO, FDA, and other applicable Quality System regulations as well as with applicable Environmental Health & Safety, Human Resources, and all other regulatory and administrative policies.Reflect company values in the quality of work and all working relationships.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position:Education:Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics, Computational Biology, or a closely related STEM field.Experience:(I) Demonstrated knowledge of: a. the clinical lab environment including with in vitro diagnostics in an FDA regulated environment; b. marketing within the healthcare industry, including an understanding of the competitive landscape; c. pre-market product development, on-market management, and product lifecycle management; d. basic financial metrics for sales and product management; e. process improvement methodologies; f. agile software development and scrum methodology; and g. IT solutions and connectivity, including a basic level of coding in (a) an advanced scripting language such as Python or similar and (b) standardized programming language such as SQL or similar to manage database operations;(II) Ability to use common business intelligence tools such as Power BI or others to create data centric visuals and dashboards and to deliver key messaging and value propositions through data driven insights;(III) Understanding of current artificial intelligence approaches and algorithms utilized in academia or in industry;(IV) Successful completion of undergraduate computer science and business/process related courses;(V) Ability to read, evaluate and parse scientific literature, including that of journal publications and patent applications and to scan patent databases;(VI) Track record: a. Independently contributing to a fast-paced academic or industry environment with demonstrated agility, resilience, and initiative; b. Communicating with cross-functional teams in a variety of settings, requiring multiple shifting priorities and possibly overlapping timelines; and c. Successfully multi-tasking, prioritizing, and managing time effectively;(VII) Strong and proactive communicator and influencer in both written and verbal form. Demonstrated ability to present to audiences across varied expertise, levels, and sizes using appropriate technical approach and terminology; and(VIII) Demonstrated ability to be an active listener and to understand and communicate the needs of all stakeholders, ensuring that different perspectives and requirements are communicated appropriately.
