JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for routine accounting operations, including transaction processing, accruals, reconciliations, month-end closing, financial reporting, and compliance with corporate policies. This position will also be responsible for supporting the Sales and Marketing (S&M) team, Development and Clinical projects and company state registrations, annual filings, and reporting. This position reports to the Controller.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Execute the monthly accounting close and reporting including all detailed supporting schedules
Manage the monthly accruals and prepaid amortizations for S&M, Development, and Clinical teams
Owns balance sheet reconciliations for S&M, Development, Clinical, and any other assigned accounts
Work with the Controller to establish efficient monthly close processes, including monthly accruals
Prepare tax and insurance reporting periodically as required
Assist with tax compliance and reporting, assist Payroll with state tax account set-up and maintenance
Manage all vendor account setup and maintenance in NetSuite. Initiates correspondence with vendors for receipt of pertinent information, W-9, banking information for payment, 1099 status, address, name, and any Healthcare Professionals (HCP) details as needed.
Prepares Form 1099s and submits for review before. Compiles and analyzes vendor data quarterly to ensure proper tax compliance.
Prepares Sunshine Act reporting for all accounts payable payments made to Healthcare Professionals.
Analyze contracts and SOW’s to ensure proper accounting and classification and prepare related Purchase Orders
Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and filings
Support the budgeting, forecasting, and analysis process as requested
Assist with designing and implementing internal controls; assist with preparing the Company for SOX 404(b) compliance
Act as backup for accounts payable as needed, entering invoices and processing payments
Ensure all accounting records are intact, readily accessible, and safeguarded
Complete necessary reports, analyses, and documents to be presented to management
Support management team on special projects, as needed
Other assigned duties as needed
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in an accounting role
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Strong SOX experience
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
NetSuite experience a plus
Experience in a commercial organization is a plus
Strong computer proficiency with the use of various software applications including, but not limited to Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
Strong organizational skills, with accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving and reconciliation skills.
Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines with minimal supervision. Proactively manage tasks and workloads; flexible, able to adapt/adjust with short notice.
Ability to analyze transactions and prepare journal entries. Use critical thinking skills to analyze invoices for complex account classifications, approvals, and supporting documentation and to resolve any issues in documentation and contractual requirements with the appropriate department.
Demonstrated professionalism and customer service skills to respond in a thoughtful, prompt, and accurate manner. Must have strong email/written composition skills to include knowledge of proper formats, grammar, and spelling.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive matters discreetly. Ability to follow and adhere to policies and procedures concerning confidentiality, security, and retention of information and systems.

The full-time salary range for this posted position is $120,000 to$130,000 and may be eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus.
