The Director of Fitness works directly with the General Manager on front desk staff training to achieve a 70% appointment set rate each month of qualified member PT prospects. Ensure club managers drive existing member traffic through personal training sales at a rate of 2% each month along with promotions and in-club events. Human Resources:

Interviewing, hiring, training, and terminating as it relates to Personal Trainers. Some of this will probably be done in conjunction with the club GM; however, the direct supervision of the PTs is the direct responsibility of the DOF. Team Performance:

The DOF is responsible for ensuring that all PT Department team members adhere to PT protocol, correcting and coaching when necessary. Provide ongoing motivation and encouragement, monitor closing percentages and sales to ensure that the department is on track to achieving or surpassing its goals, and substitute PTs as needed. Scheduling:

The Director of Fitness is responsible for ensuring that all PT Departments are scheduled sufficiently to meet demand. At times, the DOF may be required to deviate from their regular schedule to accommodate any unexpected situation. Typically, successful PT programs are constantly adding team members as the program grows, meaning scheduling is typically fluid. Administrative:

The Personal Training Program is a multi-layered program that requires continuous monitoring. The DOF will learn all aspects of the reporting as they pertain to the Personal Trainers. General Gym Membership drives the entire process; therefore, communication between the DOF and GM is essential for success. The DOF will learn the reporting from the GM and will have unlimited support in all areas of operation. The DOF will be responsible for all functions related to the Personal Training Program software (DataTrak) and provide any data the GM needs to reconcile the daily, weekly, and monthly club reports. Payroll:

The Director of Fitness is responsible for ensuring that the Trainer payroll is provided every Monday to the GM for processing. Prior to providing this information, the DOF verifies that all aspects related to PT's session counts are audited for accuracy. Member Interaction:

Since the fitness industry is a service business, the relationship and interaction between members and our staff are crucial. The DOF is expected to interact with our membership to ensure their satisfaction with our team and programs, which may include digital member surveys. Miscellaneous:

The Personal Training Program has many tasks that need to be accomplished. We expect the DOF to either assist with or take the lead on them, such as assisting with program marketing and producing trainer biographies. As part of our management team, we expect the DOF to lead by example and assist wherever needed. Secondary Responsibilities:

Act in the best interest of overall club operations and help out wherever needed to maintain a happy client base. Duties may include club walk-throughs checking on equipment and facility conditions, touring guests, selling general gym memberships during downtime, and helping at the front desk. Schedule:

Achieving sales goals drives successful programs, and the Personal Training Program is no different. The DOF position is performance-based; the more you sell, the more you make. Programs and commission structures are subject to adjustment based on facility needs and performance. Conditions of Employment:
