Better Health Partnership (BHP):
Founded in 2007, Better Health Partnership (BHP) is a non-profit, independent health improvement collaborative, affiliated with the MetroHealth system, that brings together health systems, public health, payers, employers, and community-based organizations to improve health outcomes for both adults and children. BHP provides services such as trusted convening, project management, evaluation, education, and workforce development to support their shared agendas for change. Additionally, the BHP Pathways Community HUB facilitates care coordination through its network of social service providers and community health workers to address social, economic, and behavioral health barriers that impede individuals from achieving better health. Together, BHP partners aspire to eradicate health disparities and create healthier communities throughout Northeast Ohio.
Job Summary:
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) works with the Board of Directors of Better Health Partnership (BHP), key partners and staff to provide strategic vision and leadership; oversee the organization’s programmatic priorities; cultivate relationships with community stakeholders; identify strategic opportunities to enhance BHP’s business model; and build and support a high performing team. The CEO is responsible for ensuring BHP continues to provide value in the region for multi-stakeholder health improvement efforts, including serving as a neutral convener and using data to inform replicable best practices with health and social care delivery to achieve equitable population and community health outcomes across Northeast Ohio. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of Better Health Partnership and The MetroHealth System.
Responsibilities:
Contributes to patient safety by supporting the System-wide programs and policies addressing a safe environment for patients and the reporting of safety concerns to the appropriate individuals.
Ensures the overall successful operation and continued growth and development of Better Health Partnership.
In collaboration with the Board of Directors develops strategic goals for BHP:
Overseeing the development, and execution of strategic plans to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
Monitoring and evaluating key performance indicators for organizational effectiveness and alignment and achievement of strategies related to BHP’s vision and mission.
Apprising Board of progress towards meeting goals.
Ensures ongoing financial sustainability of the organization; oversees development and management of the budget, facilitates fundraising, and advises the Board on financial status of the organization.
Oversees member/community relations, marketing, and communication strategies to enhance brand visibility, and serves as the chief spokesperson and advocate for Better Health Partnership.
Works with BHP’s clinical and data experts to measure, analyze and report trusted data in meaningful ways that inform strategic activities to drive health system and regional population health improvements.
Designs, establishes, and manages an organizational structure, staffing, and contractual relationships to effectively deliver BHP’s products/services including neutral convening, quality improvement methods, data analytics/reporting, health related social need care coordination (Pathways HUB model), workforce development, and education through various events, webinars and learning collaboratives.
Continuously develops new business and strategic partnerships. Maintains good working relationships and serves as a trusted voice with stakeholders, state agencies, funders, members, and partners.
Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Health, Public Administration or another health-related field.
A minimum of five years senior level leadership/management experience in a health-related field and health care delivery including servicing populations living in high socially disadvantaged neighborhoods.
Demonstrated track record of effectively leading, achieving outcomes and reporting on large scale, multi-stakeholder projects aligned with BHP’s mission for advancing health and health equity.
Strong business development skills including business acumen, strategic planning, and financial management experience.
Excellent relationship building skills with proven ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a broad range of constituencies.
Knowledge of the health care delivery and value-based payment system trends in the market, locally, and at state and national levels.
Strong operations management experience with track record of meeting or exceeding key performance indicator targets related to organizational effectiveness.
Preferred:
Master’s degree.
Experience in managing community-based, social care delivery systems, including payor reimbursements and network provider contracting related to achieving equitable population and community health.
