Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Combat Sensors Business Unit specializes in the development, manufacture, assembly, testing, and sustainment of sensors and systems for a multitude of fighter and strike airborne platforms. We are seeking a Director to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. This position will be located in Baltimore, MD.

The Director is responsible for the SABR Operating Unit. The position has P&L responsibility for the management, strategy and execution of the SABR Production, Development and Sustainment business, including establishing a strong trajectory for growing the business. This position reports to the VP, Combat Sensors Business Unit.

Responsibilities include:

Leads and directs cross-functional teams to meet program cost, schedule and technical performance objectives in a matrix organizational environment.

Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, risk/opportunity management, identifies program problems and obtains solutions.

Identifying, allocating and managing program resources, including workforce planning.

Creates a positive employee experience for the employees assigned to the operating unit by focusing on retention initiatives and supporting professional development.

Delivers presentations to customers, executive management and other program stakeholders.

Cultivates customer relationships and intimacy to develop further opportunities within the customer community.

Develops business area strategies and new business opportunities that are consistent with Division/ Sector priorities to drive consistent growth for the operating area.

Participates in the negotiation of contracts, contract changes, specifications, operating budgets, schedule milestones, and key terms and conditions.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor degree with 12 or more years of program management or related experience; OR Master degree with 10 or more years of program management or related experience.

Expertise in program execution to lead the performance of tasks on schedule and at cost.

Proven success in leading and influencing individuals and teams in a matrix environment.

Demonstrated ability to foster existing customer relationships and develop new customer relationships.

Strong communication and executive presence skills to effectively interact with customer and senior leadership.

Must be a US citizen with DoD Active Secret Clearance or DoE equivalent and ability to obtain special access clearances required.

Exceptional communication, collaboration and executive presence skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in engineering and/or business administration.

8+ years in leading high volume production programs, development programs or technical teams (engineering management, functional management).

Demonstrated knowledge of strategic planning and new business development.

Demonstrated knowledge of radar systems.

Salary Range:

$194,800 - $292,200

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
