seeks a visionary, dynamic, innovative, and collaborative leader and mentor to serve as the next

Director for the Division of Experimental Hematology and Cancer Biology . The Director will lead a team of exceptional scientists who conduct basic research across systems related to blood and cancer, with the goal of translating research results into clinical treatments.The opportunity:Lead and grow a division of 26 primary and 11 secondary faculty members with existing programs in research, innovation, discovery, clinical translation, and education in the broad areas of cancer and blood diseases.Lead the cancer and hematology-related research intersections for external relationships and partnerships of the Cancer and Blood Diseases Institute and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Research Foundation, including with other academic medical centers, foundations, and industry.Develop faculty including recruitment, evaluations, guidance, and mentoring to productive academic careers with external funding, while ensuring professionalism and a highly positive and collaborative culture.Oversee, support, and guide faculty in the basic sciences, promoting scientific and translational discoveries in the field of blood and cancer.Who you are:PhD, MD, or MD/PhD and rank of Associate or Full Professor with eligibility for appointment as an affiliated faculty at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.Extensive knowledge and research productivity in the fields of cancer biology and/or hematology.Prior leadership experience, experience and commitment to recruiting, mentoring, and developing diverse young faculty.Who we are:Cincinnati Children’s is ranked as the #1 Children’s Hospital in the United States, and the #1 Children’s Hospital for Cancer according to the US News and World Report.How to apply:Interested applicants should send a cover letter describing their background and interest in the position, a CV, and contact information for at least three references to Nathan Gohlke (Nathan.Gohlke@cchmc.org).
