Splunk is looking for enthusiastic and innovative frontend Software Engineers to join our Splunk Observability team who will work on systems that empower our customers to quickly detect and resolve their infrastructure and application issues. You will closely collaborate with designers, Frontend Architects, and Product Managers to craft and implement modern, delightful, and intuitive features that streamline the experience between multiple Splunk products. We are passionate about solving customers’ problems as well as building best-of-its-kind products and you will help us win in this fast-growing market.Responsibilities

Understand the business scenarios, collaborate with UI/UX designers, Product Managers, and customers to explore and brainstorm new features which yield business value.Lead or own the frontend design of new features and drive the implementations.Be accountable for identifying and driving to clean up technical debts.Follow the best software development practices, and hold the high engineering bar for the team by regularly leading design, code review and test plan reviews.Identify improvement opportunities in areas of engineering excellence and operational excellence, and implement them.Participate in on-call rotations, post-incident reviews, and other operational duties to ensure service delivery quality.Responsible for debugging and providing solutions or fixes to customer reported issues or requirements.Help team estimate middle to large scale work which spans multiple sprint timelines.Contribute to the growth of junior engineers through design & code review, tech talks, mentoring, pair-programming, etc.Requirements

Proficiency in building delightful web applications; experience leading technical designs, implementation and testing for frontend systems.Passionate about building sophisticated and powerful user interfaces to tackle customer problems.Ability to partner with designers, Product Management, QA, Doc Writers and other multi-functional teams.In-depth knowledge of web standards, modern browsers, responsive design, and full web technology stack.Proficiency in working with at least one JS framework, e.g. React, Backbone or Angular.Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript.Experience with one or more relational databases & NoSQL databases.Experience and good knowledge about Python and GraphQL is a plus.Prior experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure and GCP.Capable of solving problems through uncertainty and ambiguity.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related majors; 5+ years of relevant proven experience.Splunk is an Equal Opportunity EmployerAt Splunk, we believe creating a culture of belonging isn’t just the right thing to do; it’s also the smart thing. Base Pay RangeSF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area: $174,800.00 – 240,350.00 per yearCalifornia (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts: $157,320.00 – 216,315.00 per yearAll other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area: $139,840.00 – 192,280.00 per year.Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate.
