The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley School Of Medicine is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible physician in Surgery to establish a specialty practice in Breast Surgery. Responsibilities include participating in scholarly activity, faculty development, patient safety and quality improvement initiatives, preparing and providing didactics, evaluating residents and medical students, and developing programs for CLER and RRC site visits. Previous experience in a residency program teaching role is preferred, but individuals just finishing residency/fellowship training are highly encouraged to apply. Faculty will administer and maintain a professional educational environment conducive to educating residents in ACGME competencies and assisting them in reaching their individual milestones, as well as educating medical students in the practice of Breast Surgery. Working within the UT Health RGV clinical mission, the Department has outstanding educational and scholarly activities for medical students and a growing Surgery program. A strong commitment to the education of residents and medical students is essential. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.Minimum Qualifications
MD or DO degree with Board Certification in General Surgery or board eligible. Must possess or be eligible for a Texas Medical License.Discipline Specific Required Qualifications
Completed a General Surgery residency from an ACGME accredited program and completion of a Breast Surgery Fellowship.Preferred Qualifications
