We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated computational biologist with expertise in Antigen Design, Protein engineering, ML/AI to join our research and development team. This person will play a crucial role in the design and characterization of a vaccine to mitigate methane emission from enteric fermentation in ruminants. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and advance our understanding of antigen design, immune responses, and vaccinology in the veterinary field.ResponsibilitiesAntigen Design and Optimization:

Utilize cutting-edge Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence algorithms with complex biological data including genomics, proteomics, and metagenomics to design and optimize vaccine antigens to augment bovine microbiota to reduce methane emissions.Computational Modeling and Simulation:

Develop sophisticated computational models to simulate the interactions between vaccine candidates and bovine biological systems. Evaluate and refine these models iteratively to predict and enhance vaccine performance.Develop and implement novel computational algorithms:

Create machine learning models to predict antigenic epitopes, antigen stability, and immunogenicity.Interdisciplinary Collaboration:

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including microbiologists, immunologists, veterinarians, and bioinformaticians, to integrate computational insights into the overall vaccine development pipeline.Innovative Approach:

Continuously explore and implement state-of-the-art computational biology techniques and emerging technologies to accelerate the design and testing of antigens.Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain thorough documentation of research methodologies, results, and findings. Prepare detailed reports and presentations to convey research progress and outcomes.Communication Excellence:

Effectively communicate complex computational concepts and findings to team members, fostering a shared understanding of the computational biology aspects of the project.QualificationsA Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field with 2-3 years experience.Proven experience in applying ML and AI techniques to biological data.Strong knowledge of genomics, molecular biology, and immunology.Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in computational biology, such as Python or R.Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.Excellent communication and presentation skills.A desire to stop climate change.Good to HaveExperience in preclinical vaccine development and experience in microbiome characterization or editing.We offer competitive compensation, excellent benefits, and opportunities for career advancement.
