Summary:

The Portfolio Management Leader manages the portfolio management group of the commercial lending department, overseeing the portfolio managers for both the CRE and C&I divisions and their respective loan portfolios. Responsibilities include management of personnel, policies, procedures, reporting, portfolio monitoring, including Annual Reviews, and tracking covenants and exceptions for the entire commercial portfolio. The Head of Portfolio Management will ensure that the portfolio managers maintain deep relationships with owners, sponsors, CEOs, and CFOs of portfolio companies to ensure that loan customers are performing and that the bank is managing risk properly. In addition to management responsibilities, the Portfolio Management Leader will have direct portfolio management responsibilities and will be responsible for identifying and analyzing relevant information to assess ongoing credit risk, establish prescriptive plans for companies that move to the watch list, and actively protect principal if credits end up in workout. The Portfolio Management Leader will work with the Head of Commercial Lending, the Chief Lending Officer, and Credit to establish and/or update policies and procedures related to portfolio management and credit administration. The Head of Portfolio Management will take the lead in working with internal and external audits and collaborate with executive leadership for compliance and regulatory inquiries. Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Management, Economics, or a similar field. 10 or more years of experience managing C&I and CRE loan portfolios. Deep understanding of industry nuances applicable to both C&I and CRE credits contained within the group's portfolio. Experience developing and implementing policies and procedures. Well-developed credit and analytic skills supported by formal credit training. Highly effective communication skills, comfortable proposing, negotiating, and presenting credit enhancements. Experience working with internal auditors, loan review, external auditors, and regulators. Excellent leadership skills and the ability to manage a team effectively. Experience in staff development, hiring, leading teams, coaching, and managing performance to desired outcomes. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent organizational skills.
