We are known for developing extraordinary leaders who share this passion and are guided by their service to others.Partner Relations is a Center of Excellence committed to supporting our partners and leaders with questions and concerns about their work environment.The partner relations consultant, labor relations contributes to Starbucks’ success by supporting retail leaders in the U.S. and Canada, acting as a strategic partner relations expert to consult on partner (employees) questions and concerns and operating as a balanced and objective advocate on behalf of partners and managers, focused on labor relations. The partner relations consultant advises leaders on complex retail store partner relations matters and engages in related project work to ensure that Starbucks partners are treated in a fair and consistent manner. In this capacity, the partner relations consultant upholds, interprets, and provides coaching on Starbucks policies, procedures, and programs.As a partner relations consultant, labor relations, you will:Consult with leaders on partner-related questions and concerns that involve a high degree of complexity or risk to the business.Provide performance management consultation to ensure accurate interpretation of employment laws and regulations and consistent development as well as delivery of corrective action in petitioning and represented locations.Lead partner relations investigations and concerns involving allegations where there is a high degree of complexity or risk to the business. Lead resolution of issues in accordance with Starbucks standards. As needed, involve and consult with other Starbucks teams (Legal, Operations, Labor Relations, etc.) to ensure consistent and equitable outcomes.Interpret and drive the evolution of Starbucks policies, procedures, standards, and practices. Partner with various Starbucks departments and collaborate on a resolution to ensure greater clarity and compliance.Collaborate with partner relations leadership in identifying HR trends affecting the partner experience to retail operations and Partner Resource leaders. Identify solutions to positively impact trends.Analyze trends by leveraging data and insights. Work collaboratively with retail Partner Resources retail vice presidents, directors, managers, and Labor Relations organization to empower leaders to uplift the partner experience.Identify, lead, or participate in projects to improve the partner experience or drive efficiencies.Coach and develop partners to elevate their knowledge of partner relations issues and build skills to mitigate or resolve them. Model leadership behaviors and drive the engagement, development, and performance of all members of the team. May mentor one or more senior partner relations associates.We’d love to hear from people with:B.A. or B.S. in Business, Psychology, Education, Communication, or related field. Closely related human resources work experience or training may substitute for advanced education on a year-for-year basis.6 years of increasingly responsible human resources generalist or related operations leadership experience with an emphasis on employee relations, including coaching/performance management, consultation, and performance development.3 years of direct labor relations experience.4 years of consulting with internal clients to identify business needs and recommend solutions.Typically requires overnight travel up to 20% of the time.This position supports Central and West Coast time zones; preferred candidates will be located in those time zones.Flexibility to meet the demands of supporting partners in different time zones including globally.Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources management.Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices of labor relations management.Skilled in consulting in a business environment and influencing senior leaders.As a Starbucks partner, you (and your family) will have access to medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, and other voluntary insurance benefits. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
