VMWARE and cloud (AWS or vCloud) Experience: 5+ years managing and maintaining VMWare environment 3+ years implementing hybrid cloud with AWS 3+ years implementing automation of SDLC of Virtual environment 3+ years implementing and sustaining VMWARE installation, configuration, management, and data protection of high-availability virtualized environment Education: College diploma or University degree in Computer Science and 5+ years of experience in the related field VCP and/or Cloud Certifications Computer Skills: VMWare 5.5 or higher vCloud and Managed hosting services in a distributed environment Virtualization of Storage and Network Design of bare metal hardware to full virtualization of hosted application VMWare Converter Capacity planning and reporting; Design and Implementation of security domains within virtualized environment Designing complex Networks, VLANS, and Cross Security Zoning design and implementation Additional Requirements: Extensive knowledge on design and connectivity Be able to install and maintain hardware within the datacenter; lifting, racking or moving equipment is required Proficient to generate projects from start to end with minimal guidance from management Required on-call support duties that will include weekend and night time deployments Must be able to coordinate and function with different teams within the organization Proactiveness and self-motivation required The Senior VMWare Virtualization Systems Engineer will provide engineering support for the VMWare infrastructure, including analyzing and troubleshooting support incidents, design, deployment, and identification of important potential technologies and approaches to address current and future needs within the enterprise. Evaluate applicability and fit of solutions, and make recommendations. Assist in defining standards for virtualization technologies and best practices for their use. Essential Functions: Install, configure and manage a highly available and scalable virtual infrastructure Provide planning, installing, configuring, and upgrading support for vCenter Server and VMware ESX 5.X and 6.X. Plan and configure vSphere networking over distributed switching and storage solutions for datastore Develop plans for deploying and administering virtual machines and vApps Establish and maintaining service levels; perform basic troubleshooting; monitor vSphere implementations; and manage vCenter server alarms Manage the health of the vSphere appliance and perform upgrades and maintenance Configuring and managing virtual networks in NSX Configuring and managing virtual Guests using Orchestrator, vMA CLI and vRealize Manage and balance virtual datastores in Storage DRS clusters Manage and balance virtual guests resources across hosts in the clusters Participate in Enterprise testing for integration of proposed new technologies to be included in the Enterprise design and develop test-related documentation Draft, coordinate, and finalize documentation to ensure the integration of virtualization within the Enterprise vDirector vCloud for hybrid AWS cloud integration Manage SRM for DR failover Participate in OpenStack discussions for the next generation of virtualization with cross-functional teams between engineering, networking and architecture Provide support for on-call duties Equal Opportunity Employer
