Join the Space revolution and make the impossible, possible.Northrop Grumman Strategic Space Systems Division has an opening for a Staff Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals and maintain our world class capabilities in a dynamic environment. Areas of support include, but are not limited to, antennas, composites, mechanisms & sensors, cables & harnesses, propulsion, and solar arrays. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.The ideal candidate will be required to apply engineering principles to act as the liaison between engineering definition and production areas. The individual will have broad knowledge of manufacturing techniques and problem solving in order to contribute and drive affordability initiatives for mechanical production, integration and test of spacecraft. Typical tasking of this role may include:Enabling feedback loop with engineering definition for producibility, affordability, and incorporation of lessons learnedParticipation in project management, project scheduling and/or earned value management for affordability initiativesUtilizing and leveraging new industry technologies and capabilities, incorporating change management into production processesUnderstanding manufacturing flows to build and test hardware that is compliant with engineering drawings, specifications, and requirements documentsUnderstanding manufacturing work instructions that adhere to processes, engineering and quality requirementsUnderstanding work orders from master process plans through plan closureUnderstanding tooling requirements and the fabrication of toolingSupporting manufacturing readiness reviews and design reviewsProviding support to the production floor during fabrication and assembly phasesThe selected candidate must possess strong communication and technical writing skills, as well as an ability and desire to learn and problem solve. The individual must also thrive in a collaborative environment, working across organizations to coordinate readiness for manufacturing execution.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree plus 14 years of technical experience OR Master's Degree plus 12 years of technical experience OR High School Diploma/General Education Diploma (G.E.D) plus 18 years of technical experienceCandidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance or SCI AccessPreferred Qualifications:Active DoD Top Secret clearance or SCI accessAbility to operate in a large team environmentExcellent communication and technical writing skillsExtensive experience with composites, mechanisms & sensors, antenna products, or propulsion systemsExperience with manufacturing execution systems, SAP, and other production coordination toolsDemonstrated experience in project leadership, project management, and/or managing production resourcesSalary Range:

$146,000 - $219,000The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
