Cyber Operations Officers gather intelligence from adversary systems and networks using advanced tools, techniques, and tradecraft.As a Cyber Operations Officer for the CIA, you will work in a fast-paced, challenging, and collaborative environment, utilizing your cutting-edge knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networks to lead the future of the Agency's intelligence mission.Opportunities for domestic and foreign travel are possible.You must be physically in the United States or one of its territories when you submit your resume via MyLINK.You must be registered for the Selective Service, if applicable.You must be a U.S. citizen and at least 18 years of age (dual-national US citizens are eligible).You must be willing to move to the Washington, DC area.You must successfully complete a thorough medical and psychological exam, a polygraph interview, and a comprehensive background investigation.Qualifications
Minimum QualificationsCreative problem-solving and critical-thinking skillsVerbal and written communications skills (especially as applied to technical presentations and documentation)Ability to apply interpersonal skills to collaborative team environmentsStrong organizational and planning skillsCommitment to continuous learningAbility to work within cross-functional teamsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing prioritiesAbility to meet the minimum requirements for joining CIA, including U.S. citizenship and a background investigationEducationBachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a computer-related or networking-related field such as:Cyber Security/Information SecurityComputer EngineeringComputer ScienceElectrical EngineeringNetwork EngineeringInformation SystemsKnowledge, experience, and/or professional certifications in one or more computer or networking technical areas such as:Information security tools and techniques: Network monitoring, Network mapping, Vulnerability scanning, Penetration testingOffensive information securityDigital forensics and data recoveryOperating systems - Windows, Linux/UNIX, mobile, and/or networkingVoice/data communications (satellite, RF, wireless, and telecommunications networks)Network administration - security and engineering, networking equipment (routers/firewalls/switches)VPN administrationPublic key infrastructure and encryption systemsProgramming and scripting languagesCommand line toolsInternet/web technologies - Email, Social networking and collaboration sitesKnowledge and experience with industry computer and network security events such as:Ethical hacking contestsCapture-the-flag exercisesComputer security conferencesKnowledge and experience with tailoring Systems Engineering and/or Program Management concepts to small scale effortsEducation
