CYP Counsellor Required: Warrington & Halton, Cheshire
We are looking for an experienced Counsellor to join our teams in Halton and Warrington to provide trauma-informed therapy to children and adolescents who have experienced sexual violence. The post holder will work within a multi-disciplinary framework to undertake comprehensive assessments and offer therapeutic interventions to children, aged 5 to 17 years; and to provide support to caregivers as required.Responsibilities
Recognised professional qualification to Post Graduate Diploma levelEligible for Accreditation with BACP or equivalent governing bodyExperience of working therapeutically with trauma/survivors of sexual violenceExperience of working with children and adolescentsA clear understanding of trauma-focused approaches to therapyA clear understanding of the effects of sexual violenceAbility to assess for risk and formulate treatment plansAbility to work autonomously and use professional judgment in relation to safeguarding and appropriate information sharingExperience of providing trauma-focused interventionsExperience of providing time-limited counsellingUnderstanding of and ability to provide psychoeducation & coping techniquesEvidence of continued professional developmentStrong organisational and administrative skillsA good level of competency in IT skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft 365Skills and experience of TF-CBT for ChildrenAdditional qualification in EMDR/CBT/Trauma Focused Therapy/Solution Focused TherapyPlease send an
