The
Lead Merchandiser (LM)
is responsible for overseeing the merchandising of two or more Home Depot Garden Centers in a District. Responsibilities include merchandising to company standards, implementing store promotions, setting weekly ads, working in conjunction with their District Manager/Market Manager to monitor inventory levels, ensure inventory accuracy, and support the on-boarding and coaching of new hires while achieving sales objectives within a timely manner. Lead Merchandisers are also responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer service throughout their Garden Centers. They must solve problems, make informed decisions, and manage their workforce and time wisely in order to achieve maximum results.Tasks and Responsibilities
Assist the District Manager/Market Manager and HR Generalist in the recruitment and hiring of exceptional talent to meet staffing needs.Train and coach staff in the execution of daily tasks and best practices.Ensure required training is completed by store staff.Ensure ongoing work objectives are met through efficient management of time and resources.Provide constructive suggestions, encouragement, honest feedback, and expectations to staff.Manage issues relating to Garden Center maintenance and safety, role model safety practices, and ensure incident/accident reporting and policy compliance.Ensure the correct interpretation, communication, and implementation of the Plan-O-Gram program as directed by leadership.Ensure proper communication channels exist between Bell Nursery, our client, and vendor partners.Ensure staff compliance with established Company policies and standards.Proactively help identify and solve problems that affect the Garden Centers' efficiency, productivity, and overall service.Work with merchandising staff regarding all aspects of responsibilities including signing product for all sales and Home Depot ads and merchandising for all third-party vendor product.Stock tables and displays with merchandise while keeping the garden center in order and Plan-O-Gram compliant.Assist with the movement of product from delivery trucks to the sale floor.Support store personnel and assume other activities as needed.Any other tasks as directed by leadership.Qualifications

Ability to build relationships with, train, develop, and appropriately utilize the skills of the workforce.Ability to manage store operations and merchandise effectively.Ability to provide outstanding customer service.Ability to maintain a fair and consistent set of standards as they apply to the workforce.Ability to adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast-paced environment.Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.Listen actively to ensure understanding of material and provide instruction to the workforce.A basic knowledge of plants and gardening or an interest in learning about plants and gardening.Candidate must be able to understand how to merchandise live goods or be willing to learn.Requirements
