We do this to ensure that in Maryland, we leave no one behind.GRADE14LOCATION OF POSITIONFrederick County Department of Social ServicesChild Support1888 North Market St.Frederick, MD 21701Main Purpose of JobThis position is the full performance level responsible for carrying out extensive and complete supervision of the fiscal operations of the Child Support Fiscal Services as administered by the Child Support Enforcement Division of DHR in an accurate, timely and professional manner adhering to Federal, State and Local regulations. The main purpose of this position is to perform supervisory review and approval of work of all lower level Fiscal Accounts Technicians/Fiscal Clerks, maintain separation of duties as per audit requirements and troubleshoot any Child Support fiscal issues as they arise to ensure payments are collected and distributed accurately.POSITION DUTIESMonitor and verify the receipt of cash, money orders, cashier checks and certified checks received by mail; oversee preparation of daily transmittal and/or bank deposit of child support payments.Plan, coordinate, monitor and supervise the work of subordinate staff, using state and county performance guidelines and procedures.Monitor staff activity, timely review, verify and approve account updates/changes completed by assigned staff, and prioritize workload to assure that all case actions are completed timely and correctly according to federal, state, and local guidelines and regulations.Train, advise and provide guidance on fiscal policies and procedures to lower-level Fiscal Account Technicians and Clerks; participate in training opportunities to improve skills and knowledge; assure unit staff also participate in training opportunities.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSApplicants must meet all minimum (and selective) qualifications to be considered, and to appear on the list of people eligible for hire. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.Experience:

Three years of experience reconciling agency accounting systems to fiscal control systems or developing automated spreadsheets, ledgers and reports using accounting software packages or identifying budget trends and recommending budget realignments.Notes:Experience calculating and recording financial, statistical or other numerical data may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required high school education.Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience in Financial Clerical/Finance Technicians classifications or specialty codes in the financial field of work at a rate of one year of military experience for the required experience.DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSPreference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s).
