Senior Refrigeration Engineer

at CRB, you'll have the unique opportunity to work within an integrated Architecture, Engineering, and Construction firm capable of executing ONE solution integrated project delivery work. This diversity of professionals allows us to provide innovative & impactful solutions to the Life Sciences and Food & Bev industry in an era where speed, quality, and creativity have never been more critical.How will I contribute?You will be responsible for overseeing the discipline deliverables and budget on simple to complex projects of all sizes. You will coordinate with internal and external architects and engineers, as well as clients, construction managers, subcontractors, and vendors.You will manage multiple complex tasks, establish priorities, and help direct the work of others on projects. You may act as the mechanical point-of-contact for clients, other disciplines, pre-con services for their scope areas, and help complete complex project code analysis, plan and prepare bid/permit/construction deliverables (including details and specifications), and understand the technical and design aspects of CRB's market areas. You will develop project documents (e.g. calculations, reports and construction drawings and specifications, etc) for clients according to regulatory and industry standards and work with other disciplines to ensure system designs are fully coordinated from conception through completion.You will also have the opportunity to provide mentorship to earlier-career engineers on projects related to refrigeration, HVAC, and plant and clean utilities.Responsibilities:Interface with clients and external partners. Lead design and review meetings.Plan and direct design work, manage a project budget from a mechanical design perspective on small to large-sized, greenfield and brownfield projects.Support proposal development under the supervision of a lead engineer or project manager.Identify basic non-compliant existing conditions during site walks and construction field surveys.Develop concept and basis of design reports. Perform preliminary equipment sizing and selection.Develop construction drawing packages and write construction specifications.Participate in quality review functions and drive overall project quality.Support construction efforts with review of RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings.Occasionally travel to client sites to support design development and provide construction support.Qualifications

Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred10+ years of experience, preferably in a design firm settingProfessional Registration (Licensure)Advanced experience with performing engineering calculations, and developing and implementing refrigeration, HVAC, mechanical utility, and piping systems designs requiredAdvanced experience with the mechanical code and applicable building codes requiredAdvanced experience conducting and leading field surveys of existing conditions and support of field reportingAdditional QualificationsProficiency in AutoCAD and Revit requiredAdvanced coordination across internal and external cross-discipline project teams, construction trade partners, vendors, and manufacturers requiredIntermediate experience with troubleshooting issues with mechanical systems requiredLEED, WELL, or other sustainable design accredited professional optional
