Principal Designer I . The ideal candidate will be comfortable collaborating with senior executives in business, engineering, and product management to shape the vision of our product’s experiences and ensure our design work meets the highest standards.As a Principal Designer, you will be responsible for influencing and contributing to teams of designers across multiple projects. You will work with our customers, business leaders, engineers, and product leadership to determine design requirements, product roadmaps, and OKRs. You will constantly improve our product experiences and our design process and methodologies. You will be an exemplary leader in a multi-disciplinary design and research organization that values people, human-centered design, and a growth mindset.This position is a hybrid role that requires being on-site 3 days a week at one of the following locations: Chevy Chase, MD; New York City, NY; Washington, DC; Chicago, IL; San Jose, CA; Fredericksburg/Richmond, VA; Lakeland, FL.Job ResponsibilitiesBrings deep expertise in UX and UI design to our design teams to influence and craft the direction of our product’s experiences.Collaborates with product, engineering, and business executives to uncover customer and business needs.Contributes to design systems and standards to ensure consistent user experiences across all digital touchpoints.Translates complex ideas into understandable concepts and solutions that evolve and enhance the product experience.Advocates for the customer through human-centered design methods, including discovery, research sessions, and user testing.Facilitates and participates in workshops with internal and external stakeholders to align with business needs.Drives end-to-end product design by framing problems, developing insights, and designing new methodologies/practices to serve customer needs.Contributes to projects by developing user flows, wireframes, journey maps, and user interface design specifications.Mentors designers providing guidance and feedback to help individuals grow their skills and careers.Basic Qualifications:10+ years of experience with User Experience design.Preferred Qualifications:Demonstrated ability to work across design processes e.g. user research, user experience design, UI design, and specifications.An exceptional portfolio showcasing design work across multiple platforms and technologies.Ability to influence work across multiple teams and lines of business.Effective executive-level communication and storytelling skills.Proficiency with design tools (i.e., Figma) to deliver concepts and enable successful collaboration across teams.Familiarity contributing to and working in an established design system within agile development teams.Annual Salary
: $128,000.00 - $224,000.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate.
