Electrical Inspector – San Diego, CaliforniaOpportunity:

Parsons is now hiring an experienced Electrical Inspector in the San Diego, California area to work with various inspections for wastewater/water treatment plants, specifically for filter rehabilitations. Experience with inspections at wastewater or water treatment plants is essential for this role. This is a full-time role with benefits, on a long-term project.Overview:

Under general supervision, performs difficult and sometimes complex inspection tasks. Inspects various facets of work on the job site and performs continuous surveillance of assigned inspection activities to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and specifications. Documents nonconformance and may participate in determining appropriate resolution. Inspection activities will be concentrated in electrical for water utilities. Work site is primarily in the La Jolla area of San Diego. Performs work in a safe manner and is cognizant of public safety.Responsibilities:

Conducts inspections to determine if work has been done in accordance with contract specifications, which may include:Inspections of various filtration systems at the wastewater/water treatment plant.Taking project photographs on a daily basis and filing them.Maintains office files related to the project, quantity calculations, and writes daily diaries.Prepares daily reports and other documentation as required by the contract.Verifies that only approved materials are incorporated in the work.Performs labor compliance interviews and maintains as-built plans.Recognizes potential conflicts, issues, and problems, and reports to supervisor with proposed solutions.Collects, reviews, and files Certificate of Compliance, MSDS, inspection tags, and other information relevant to the materials used.May provide technical guidance to lower-level inspectors.Participates in the development of job safety practices and in the preparation of safety reports.Participates in the development of quality control reports and procedures.Reports on installed quantities to verify applications for payment and change order work.Responds to call backs in case of emergency at the project site.PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

2-year degree in a technical discipline or construction-related field, or a high school diploma and equivalent work experience, is required. Also requires 5-10 years of related experience on field projects, as well as formal certification from an independent organization, depending on type of inspection assignment. Some knowledge of public works contracts is desirable. Construction safety training including OSHA 10-hour training and Parsons SHARP training is preferred. Experience with electrical inspection of systems at a wastewater and/or water treatment plant is preferred.SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

Must be able to read and interpret plans and specifications and be thoroughly familiar with construction-related processes related to the area of assignment. Knowledge of English grammar and composition, the ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing; to follow oral and written instructions, prepare written messages and simple charts and graphs. Capability to perform math calculations in order to prepare engineering calculations, graphs, and charts. Proficiency with basic computer usage, Microsoft Office, Project Management Software, and internet search engines (like Google or equivalent). Ability to comply with a multitude of requirements as applicable to the project based on client and industry standards. Must have a thorough understanding of scheduling, and the ability to review progress pay estimates and extra work bills. Must be able to recognize hazardous work conditions and take action if necessary. Ability to use good judgment and work with others is required. Requires the ability to climb ladders, inspect work above ground, and work in confined spaces. Requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs (i.e., lifting materials used for testing of concrete, AC, etc.).Minimum Clearance Required to Start:
