We are equally committed to building a diverse workforce and inclusive culture where employees can use their talents to thrive and grow professionally with the firm.The Public Finance Associate will interface with the firm’s Public Finance Bankers, Municipal Underwriting and sales and will also have regular communication with various members of bond transaction working groups including the issuer, bond counsel, other legal professionals, as well as rating agencies and bond insurers.What you are good at:Organization and Time Management:

Able to handle analytical, quantitative, and technological tasks while operating in a fast-paced environment effectively managing competing priorities and responsibilities.Responsibilities:Work with senior bankers on all aspects of business development and deal acquisition.Provide ongoing client coverage, relationship management, deal execution, and revenue generation.Support the banking team with preparing client presentations, debt profiles, and cash flows.Respond to Requests for Proposals and create preliminary and final official statements.Support transaction administration and execution.Assist issuer clients manage and comply with SEC continuing disclosure requirements and other MSRB regulations.Help train and mentor analysts.Required Skills and Experience:Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college/university.Minimum of 3 years of work experience, preferably in financial services.Prior municipal bond industry work experience a plus; previous work experience within public finance municipal or capital markets is beneficial but not required.Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.Confident and self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.Ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential information and work with all levels of employees and clients.Strong quantitative skills necessary to learn and master financial modeling and financial statement analysis.Exceptional organization, problem solving, and research skills.Exceptional critical thinking skills under pressure.Strong presentation and writing skills, including creating pitchbooks and proposals.Team player with a desire to be a part of a small professional team operating in a competitive, intense, and collegial work environment.Proficient in Microsoft Office Products.Ability to quickly learn and master industry-required software and websites, including DBC financial modeling software, TM3, Bloomberg, rating agency websites, and the MSRB’s EMMA website.Possess MSRB Series 52 registration or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.Why work for us?Benefits: Janney believes that its employees are the key to what makes a great company.
