This position is responsible for managing the complete EH&S programs for the Portland, OR facility under the ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards, to minimize all EH&S risks and reduce potential liabilities. The incumbent will be responsible for regulatory and company environmental compliance activity and facilitating the site Environmental Management System (EMS) per the ISO 14001 standard. Requires strong leadership and collaboration with supervisors, managers, and employees for compliance training, governmental regulations, facility policies, and environmental objectives. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager.Must apply professional communication principles, safety standards, and analytical techniques. Investigate EH&S-related incidents, implement corrective actions, and maintain knowledge of regulations. Contribute to hazard reviews and ensure compliance with the SPCC Plan.Key Responsibilities

Lead the development and implementation of EHS policies, procedures, and safety incentives to enhance safety continually.Monitor and recommend new EHS programs based on regulations.Ensure site internal SG EHS standards, requirements, and external (ISO 14001) requirements are met by the site.Ensure all employee safety training requirements are met.Perform and update risk assessments for routine and non-routine tasks.Work in coordination with department managers and regional EHS Manager.Interact effectively with all plant personnel and contractors; strong social skills required.Ensure effective communication of EHS matters and prompt response to employee concerns.Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations for waste, emissions, water, and health records.Evaluate project environmental impact and implement mitigation measures.Coordinate safety incident investigations and ensure prompt corrective actions.Actively participate in daily production meetings.Manage EHS calendars with periodic review.Coordinate with management to schedule maintenance and upgrades for safety equipment.Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.Required Qualifications

RequirementsBachelor’s Degree required (Occupational Safety & Health and/or Environmental Management Degree Preferred)Three to five years of experience (manufacturing environment preferred)Must be able to effectively use Microsoft Office including Excel/Word/PowerPoint.Must have the ability to read, write, and perform mathematical computations at a level required for successful job performance.Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards.Ability to effectively present information to employees at all levels of the organization.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations.
