Job Description - Spanish Interpreter and Translator (3283383)Position:
Spanish Interpreter and Translator (3283383)Responsibilities:Assess the needs of non-English speaking patients and provide assistance by interpretation and translation of consent forms, diagnoses, discharge plans, and any other type of patient-related information.Independently resolve most issues that arise in daily responsibilities, answer questions about protocols, and make appropriate referrals without direct supervision.Serve as a resource to both patients and providers to contribute to successful outcomes.Comply with appropriate BWH policies and procedures.Shift:
36hr rotationMinimum Requirements:Bachelor's Degree with a concentration in a human relations field (i.e., Sociology, Psychology) highly preferable.At least 2 years of college-level education and 2 years of hospital and/or health care-related experience in a position of direct patient contact.Must possess prior experience with written translations.A high level of language proficiency to successfully interpret and translate documents.Prior training in medical terminology and interpreting skills.Knowledge of culture-specific care.Brigham and Women’s Hospital is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
