Unit 9 - CSUEU - Technical Support Services, Probationary, Full Time, Information Systems & Technology, Telecommute eligible (work onsite as scheduled and/or as requested and telecommute as scheduled)Job SummaryUnder general supervision, this position develops, improves, and supports the Cal Poly enterprise web program. This position will also be responsible for creation, execution, and oversight of portions of vendor contracts and relationships.Working with the director of ITS-Service Strategy and Portfolio management team and our other project managers, the Web/Cloud project manager would lead projects to deliver, maintain, secure, upgrade, and respond to incidents. The majority of web services (development, hosting) will be outsourced to best-of-breed vendors. This project manager will take lead role in vendor management, inter-vendor coordination, and scheduling of large scale web system changes. In addition, this position will work closely with University Marketing Web Director to ensure technology solutions will meet overall web strategic vision. This will require working internally with ITS experts to provide appropriate advice, direction, configuration, and process adherence.Under the general direction, this position provides leadership and project management for the technical aspects of Cal Poly’s IT infrastructure capital construction projects. This position plays a key role in the successful planning, tracking, and implementation of the technical aspects of these projects. They are primarily responsible for meeting with both internal and external teams, advising on technical impact, managing vendors, communicating to customers about technical projects, and communicating with ITS about overall project information.Department SummaryInformation Technology Services (ITS) is a fast-moving team that is responsible for helping Cal Poly achieve academic excellence through developing and implementing learning, teaching, and administrative solutions which leverage technology that align with strategic goals and objectives. Our team of more than 170 professionals works in a DevOps environment to shape the technology landscape at Cal Poly.Key QualificationsManages overall performance of information technology projects; ensuring milestones and deliverables are met through scoping, managing dependencies, critical path, resources, risks and decisions.Prepares, coordinates and leads Waterfall and Agile project meetings and activities such as: project charters, timelines, work breakdown, sprint planning, workshops, daily standups, and post project lesson learned meetings.Collaborates with IT and Facilities teams on major and minor capital projects with a focus on strategy, vendor management, technology standards, and budget management to ensure successful project delivery.Understands and communicates impact of construction decisions to campus constituents, ITS leadership, and impacted ITS teams.Collaborates with ITS and Campus partners to develop infrastructure roadmaps and related technology lifecycles.Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience.Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for up to two years of required education on a year-for-year basis.Salary and BenefitsAnticipated Hiring Range: $TBD with 5% GSI FY 24/25Classification Range: $58,944 - $145,488Cal Poly offers a best-in-class benefits program, including health, dental and vision insurance, retirement participation in the Public Employees' Retirement System, and educational benefits for eligible employees.
