Join a company on a mission to expand grid capacity and create a cleaner and stronger energy infrastructure in Texas with the addition of a T&D Control Center Operations Leader. This role will help drive round-the-clock operations for Electrical Distribution Control Center Operations in compliance with NERC and ERCOT reliability standards. It is a leadership role, and the expectation is that the incumbent will have leadership/supervisory experience building out or leading distribution control centers in ERCOT (Texas). However, similar experience in other ISOs/RTOs will be considered. MUST have experience with SCADA based remote monitoring systems and outage management. The company has a strong foundation and reputation for building energy infrastructure projects to support the grid in states like Texas. This includes transmission (t-line), regional control centers, and distribution systems with interconnects to various renewable energy technology platforms. Responsibilities: Oversees the day-to-day round-the-clock operations of the Electrical Distribution Operations Center, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols. Supervises and mentors a team of control center operators, providing coaching and development opportunities. Monitors and analyzes real-time data on the SCADA based distribution system, identifying and responding to potential outages and equipment issues. Creates CMMS work orders to track faults, outages, and maintenance. Dispatches crews to address equipment malfunctions, outages, and restoration efforts. Ensures clear communication and coordination with field crews, maintenance personnel, and other departments. Maintains accurate records of system events and operational data. Implements and enforces company policies and safety procedures within the Distribution Operations Center. Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of experience in electric utility operations, preferably in a distribution environment. Proven supervisory experience leading a team of operators for 5+ years. Strong understanding of electric power distribution systems, equipment, and operations. Ability to work effectively under pressure and make quick decisions in fast-paced situations. Proficient in computer applications and SCADA systems (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition). Knowledge of OSI (Open Systems International) or GE Reliance SCADA systems or similar products. Knowledge of switching, tagging, load monitoring, and outage coordination procedures. Ability to build outage, maintenance, performance, and other relevant distribution operations reports. Ability to communicate control center updates and procedural changes to leadership.
