Reporting to the Vice President of Power Products, you will be responsible for defining and driving the development of Menlo Micro’s next-generation power relay products using our Ideal Switch technology. You will be responsible for all power marketing activities including product and strategic planning, assisting with product definition, product positioning, go-to-market strategy, competitive analysis, marketing communications, public relations, and tactical marketing.You will also spend time on the front lines with customers collecting feedback and architecting solutions to meet their requirements. Your work will be impactful within Menlo Micro, and to our investors.You will work in a fast-paced, innovative team environment, interacting with all functions including product development, sales, operations and marketing communications.Responsibilities
Work with key partners, customers, and end users to drive adoption of our power relay solutions.Define next generation product requirements and put in place partnerships to ensure their adoption.Create detailed market and business product plans including Marketing Requirements Documents (MRDs), Product Requirements Documents (PRDs), Competition and Return-on-Investment (ROI) analysis for product releases.Drive and manage product lifecycles from inception to commercialization (feature roadmaps, product roadmaps, pricing).Develop, implement, and manage plans for product launches including documentation, sales collateral, and presentations.Work with Engineering, Sales, Operations and customers to ensure that new products lead the market and provide clear system-level differentiation.Drive the development and distribution of supporting product documents (briefs, application guides, data sheets, bulletins) as well as website content and thought leadership through tradeshows and publications.Position products in new and existing market segments; driving efforts for design-wins with our sales department.Assist sales to develop a pipeline for future sales activity.Be responsible for annual sales targets, market growth, and margin.Build and maintain strong business relationships with customers to drive/increase sales and ensure an exceptional customer experience.Develop and implement communication plans for customers, sales and investors.Research and analyze market opportunities, trends, and competitive pressures to create, develop, and execute appropriate product management strategies and roadmap.Attract, manage, retain, and develop talent as the business grows.Travel as necessary.Qualifications and Requirements
This role requires a strong mix of technical and business skills as you work with sales and customers to define and deploy disruptive products to the market.To be a good fit for the position, you will have:A strong system and component-level understanding of power systems or industrial controls at ratings up to 1kV and 100A, for both AC and DC solutions.Experience with customers and applications of power relays and power protection devices.Experience working with customers in one or more of the following markets: industrial controls and automation, home automation, renewable energy, electrical transmission and distribution, and transportation.The ability to understand customer needs and translate those into products with appropriate tradeoffs.Excellent ability to listen and sell product concepts and technologies internally and externally.Successfully have led product management and product planning strategies and initiatives, developed product roadmaps, and taken products from inception to commercialization.Past success influencing opinions and actions of key stakeholders within their organization, customers, and partners.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including market research and data gathering.Excellent communications skills, both oral and written, including experience creating and making highly effective presentations to senior management.Strong organizational, project management, and execution skills.Experience in a global environment interfacing with many cultures and languages.BS in Electrical Engineering or related + 10 years of experience, or MS + 8 years of experience; MBA preferred.Desired Characteristics
Experience with AC and DC power systems up to 1000V and 100A.A working understanding of MEMS.Familiarity with solid-state circuit breakers.
