Manager

to work within the Maritime Airborne Sector (MAS) to identify, develop, and capture opportunities that align with the sector's strategy and priorities. The candidate will participate and coordinate all aspects of the business development (BD) and business capture (BC) process from identifying and shaping opportunities to Bid and Proposal (B&P) budgets, forming proposal teams, writing proposals, program costing, Basis of Estimate (BOEs), proposal review, editing, and contract negotiations. Falls Church, VA office. This will be an exempt, full-time position.Primary responsibilities:Contribute to the development of strategy and priorities for MAS business development and capture.Perform market research to qualify business opportunities including budget and capabilities required.Identify and capture business opportunities that align with the MAS strategy and priorities.Develop relationships and coordinate with key customers and teammates to develop capture insight regarding requirements, budgets, timing, and contract vehicle choices.For specific capture efforts, coordinate aspects of the business capture process including B&P funds, proposal team formation, proposal development, program costing, basis of estimate, review, editing, and contract negotiations.Conduct after action reviews for business opportunity capture participants to document lessons learned and identify necessary adjustments to capture technique, strategy, and actions.Work with Management to coordinate and attend applicable trade shows associated with the sector.Participate in MAS business capture planning activities, to include periodic pipeline reviews, operating plan development, bid agenda development, opportunity gate reviews.Interact routinely with all personnel levels in MAS and Arete including management, production, engineering, security, IT, and administrative.Other duties as assigned.We have an impressive range of benefits, programs, and perks that we offer:Generous PTO and Leave TimesFlextime SchedulingBereavementPaid Time Off (PTO)Paid Parental LeaveFinancial Benefits401K Retirement Plan ContributionEmployee Stock Ownership PlanContinuing Education FundsHealth, Medical, and Wellness BenefitsMedical InsuranceDental & Vision InsuranceLife Insurance and Long-Term Disability (LTD)Vision ReimbursementQualities We Look ForCreativityIntegrityPassionResponsivenessCollaborationExperiences and Background We Look For:Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, aerospace field, or equivalent experience with at least 5 years of experienceHistory of business development and capture including creation of proposals within the DoDAbility to build and maintain relationships with DoD and industry partnersStrong leadership abilities to manage cross-functional teamsAbility to support multiple projects simultaneouslyExcellent written communication, verbal communication, and presentation skillsExperience with Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel and SharePointFlexibility to travel as requiredU.S. CitizenshipAbility to obtain clearanceNice to Have:Advanced degree in business, applied science, engineering or relevant fieldTechnical experience associated with active and passive sensor systems including hardware, software, and algorithmsTechnical experience and understanding of modelling, simulation, and advanced algorithms such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Large Language Models (LLM)Experience working with or as a contractor for Navy or other DoD/government customersProven track record generating new or follow-on business with DoD customersExperience in business development or business capture associated with Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) or Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR)Experience with Deltek Costpoint and IBM CognosActive security clearance or ability to obtain TS/SCI clearanceThe salary range for this role is

$120,000 to $180,000 ; however, Arete considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to: the position and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills .Other RequirementsU.S. citizenship is required to meet position eligibility.Selected applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.Successful passage of a criminal background screen is required to meet position eligibility.
