We are hiring candidates for Senior SQL DBA - AWS to support our Federal Client.Company Name: - JTSi (Johnson Technology Systems, Inc.)Title: Senior SQL DBA - AWSLocation: RemoteSecurity Clearance: DOD Secret (Fully Adjudicated), as a minimumCitizenship: USRequired Certifications:Security+ (Or equivalent IA cert) and computing environment certification (i.e. MCSA - SQL Server, etc.)Position Requirements:This is a managed service provider (MSP) for Army IT systems and we support enterprise applications owners in migrating their systems into AWS and also provide sustainment services to support their applications. This position is for a Microsoft SQL Server DBA to provide database administration capabilities to Army cloud customers.JOB DUTIES:Serve as a SQL Server DBA subject matter expert (SME) for evaluating customer's current application database architecture and develop a new architecture to be deployed in Azure and utilizing cloud native database services (PaaS vs IaaS)Collaborate with internal and external parties to transform high-level technical objectives into comprehensive technical requirements.Build and deploy database infrastructure for customer applicationsProvide sustainment of customer database systems to include installation, patching, upgrades, database schema administration, exports/imports, backup administration, and hardening of the database systems.Assist with identifying and planning potential new cloud services, features, and capabilities.Make recommendations for improvements to security, scalability, manageability, and performance across a wide variety of network, storage, compute, and database technologies.
REQUIRED SKILLS:Mid to senior level SQL Server DBA experience in a commercial cloud environmentExperience with enterprise features of SQL Server: Always on Availability Groups, SSRS, Microsoft clusteringSecurity+ (Or equivalent IA cert) and computing environment certification (i.e. MCSA - SQL Server, etc.)Strong verbal and written communication skillsExperience effectively managing multiple large-scale projectsExperience automating routine administrative tasks desiredUnderstanding of network, storage, server, and application technologiesStrong knowledge of automation concepts, tools, and scripting languages (PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef, etc.)Working knowledge of DoD STIGs, and IA Vulnerability Management (IAVM)
DESIRED SKILLS:
3-5 years of experience in cloud security engineering, with a focus on RHEL and SAP environmentsExpertise in building and maintaining RHEL images, specifically for SAP applications3+ years of experience with developing cloud system requirements (AWS and Azure) and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and AnsibleExperience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (GitLab, Jenkins)In-depth understanding of security practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and network security (NIST and CIS Security frameworks)Experience with STIGs and their application in securing systemsExperience in using Nessus for vulnerability scanning and remediation
