Legal / ComplianceWe are looking for an experienced, self-motivated, and confident Legal Counsel/Assistant General Counsel (dependent on experience) to support RWE’s fast-growing U.S. Offshore Wind business, working within the Construction and Procurement Law team and in collaboration with the other U.S. Offshore Wind legal team members.Responsibilities:Provide legal support for procurement, construction, and operation activities of RWE’s Offshore Wind business primarily in the U.S. but also internationally, as required.Advise on, develop, draft, and negotiate all types of construction and procurement contracts required for the full life cycle of RWE’s Offshore Wind business, including turbine supply agreements, foundation contracts, EPC(I) & turnkey contracts, purchase agreements for components, service agreements, and contracts for maritime logistics.Act as the project’s first point of contact, working closely with the Procurement team, providing legal advice and coordinating specialized in-house and external legal advice.Maintain oversight of all legal matters relating to projects in your remit and advise senior management about all related legal risks, including claims and disputes.Provide legal support in relation to any disputes arising out of negotiated contracts.Drive standardization and process improvement initiatives.Develop non-standard, customized solutions when needed to address complex project challenges.Establish and nurture effective cross-functional and cross-cultural working relationships with legal and business colleagues in the wider RWE group.Negotiate and enforce contracts on behalf of joint venture entities to which RWE is a member, including coordination with attorneys of RWE’s JV partners.Position will require:Team player with an open, positive, and solution-oriented mindset.Good working knowledge of international construction and procurement law standard forms (e.g., FIDIC, BIMCO) and experience working on large scale, high value infrastructure projects.Close alignment and cooperation with other members of RWE’s Offshore Wind Construction and Procurement Law legal team.Demonstrated ability to apply a practical focus to legal issues with a view to finding viable business solutions.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Willingness to travel to RWE’s Offshore Wind headquarters in Boston at least one week per month.The successful applicant will also need to provide legal support to RWE’s U.S. Offshore Wind business on more general legal matters as required.Skills and Experience:Qualified as a lawyer in the US; preferred jurisdictions include New York, Massachusetts, and California.Several years of work experience as a lawyer or in-house counsel in a leading law firm or company.Significant expertise working with international construction and procurement law standard form contracts.Renewables experience would be beneficial but is not a pre-requisite.Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work in a dynamic environment.Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.Strong team contributor, with the ability to work independently and as part of a wider cross-functional team.What we can offer you:The opportunity to work on high-profile and complex offshore wind projects.Varied and interesting work contributing to the green energy transition.A positive, dynamic, and supportive work environment.A flexible working time and location arrangement.Room for growth and development within the company.Benefits offered:
