The Director also supervises the Department’s webmaster and student employees, collaborating closely with the Department’s Director of Admissions and the College of Humanities and Fine Arts (HFA) Director of Marketing and Communications.Essential FunctionsWrites and distributes the department’s promotional materials, including press releases, newsletters, web pages, season brochures, ads, photo shoots, and special event programs, within a yearly budget.Partners with the Department’s Admissions and Recruitment Director to design and develop recruiting materials, manage social media, organize the Annual Awards Convocation, as well as other projects and events.Collaborates with the HFA Director of Marketing and Communications, faculty, and students to enhance audience attendance at events and programs through social media and other channels.Writes and secures grants from public funding agencies and private sources to support special events and programs.Oversees an approximately $30,000 marketing budget.Supervises one staff member and 1-5 student employees.Other FunctionsPerforms related duties to support the overall mission of the Department, College, and University.Understands responsibilities related to Title IX, Clery, and other compliance requirements.Engages students and contributes to student success.Works collaboratively with other campus stakeholders.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Humanities, Fine Arts, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.At least four years' experience in marketing, event planning, and social media.Knowledge of content management systems (HTML, CSS, and other common languages), proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and MAC operating systems.Demonstrated ability to write clearly, concisely, and compellingly.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.Ability to work independently, solve problems, take initiative, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.Flexibility to travel and work non-standard hours.Preferred QualificationsExperience in the performing arts such as music, dance, and/or theater.Work ScheduleMonday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with some evening and weekend work required.This position has the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule.Upload your resume along with your completed application.
