Erie News Now is looking for the next great 7 and 11 p.m. news anchor/storyteller to join us in northwest Pennsylvania.The person we are looking for needs to be a relatable/versatile communicator with strong anchoring, reporting and writing skills for all on-air and social platforms. The ideal candidate will need to be community oriented, ready to field anchor when called upon and handle breaking news situations confidently. Our anchors are newsroom leaders who help mentor and grow producers and reporters. We are highly involved in community events and station personal appearances.Other requirements include excellent presentation abilities, strong work ethic, and sharp interpersonal skills. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:A self-starter who can generate his or her own story ideas on a daily basisNews writing and editing stories for both on-air and online and help grow our social media platformsField work, as neededWork with producer and team to create unique, fast-paced newscastsCollaborate with producers and management in the development of broadcast content, promotions, and teasesAbility to anchor hours of news coverage from the desk and fieldDevelop and maintain sources that will generate exclusive story content and news reportsAbility to handle multiple projects at once and meet deadlinesRequirements:At least (1) year of anchoring experience preferred and a degree in journalism or related field requiredAbility to handle multiple projects at once and meet deadlinesStrong news judgmentPassionate about covering local newsExcels in live coverage, investigative, and special project developmentErie News Now is part of WICU (NBC) and WSEE (CBS) in Erie, Pa., owned by Lilly Broadcasting. Lilly Broadcasting is a family-owned company that operates multiple television and radio stations, a cable network and digital platforms.
