The successful candidate will provide expert advice on data security incidents, regulatory investigations, and contractual and legal obligations related to data security.Key Responsibilities:Advise clients on privacy and security obligations, including compliance with state, federal, and international data security regulations.Guide data security incident notification and manage responses to security breaches.Defend clients during regulatory investigations related to privacy and data security.Assist in developing and implementing privacy and data protection policies and procedures.Handle contractual matters related to security and data protection.Collaborate with technical teams to understand and address complex security issues and breaches.Draft and review legal documents, including compliance reports and regulatory filings.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving privacy and security laws and industry best practices.Requirements:3-6 years of experience in privacy and cybersecurity law, including law firm or in-house experience in breach response or related litigation.Demonstrated experience advising on privacy and security obligations and handling data security incident notifications.Experience defending regulatory investigations related to privacy and data security.Strong project management skills with the ability to manage complex workloads and priorities.Proven ability to effectively communicate technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.Education and Certifications:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to the State Bar of Texas or eligibility for admission.Skills:Deep understanding of data privacy and security laws and regulations.Exceptional writing and oral communication skills with a persuasive and compelling style.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and maintain professional relationships.Motivation to continuously learn and understand new technologies and forensic investigations.Strong analytical skills that can distill complex technical issues into actionable legal advice.Location:
