Lead product designers help define our UI design practice, direct user research and testing activities, solve complex user problems through well-articulated interface designs, mentor and guide more junior designers, and help to create the next generation of payments experiences.AREA OF FOCUSPartner with product owners, development, and fellow designers to create solutions from the earliest stages of inception to launch.Define best-in-class user interfaces for technically complex systems, helping to build end-user trust.Define best practices and guidance in our evolving design system that needs to scale and support both BillGO-branded and white-label implementations.Continually optimize the handoff to our development partners ensuring the highest quality end-product.Partner closely with product managers and owners and UX during discovery and definition.Know and advocate for our users. One of our company values is “Consumer Obsessed”, you are a guiding light and driver of this value.Use qualitative and quantitative data to inform design decisions.Source data by designing and executing generative and exploratory user research studies.Lead and evaluate user testing on existing designs and prototypes using internal and external testing tools.Develop inclusive design protocols and hold others accountable on the importance of accessibility, ADA compliance, and universal design.Coach and mentor product designers on the team, helping them hone their craft and effectively communicate their ideas.Be available to support clients and external partners' implementations of our product by providing guidance and constructive feedback on their designs and builds.Be comfortable with context switching and have a willingness to be flexible when faced with changing business needs that are common in a startup-type environment.Bring inspiring and creative ideas into a lean, energetic, and collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.Drive impact across the broader organization by advocating for user-centered design practices and elevating the work of the overall team with executive leadership and the company.QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS7+ years designing complex user interfaces and partnering with cross-functional teams.7+ years of hands-on experience in all stages of the UX design process.Expert in the UX process, knowing what tools to use and when.Mastery of design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, or other comparable tools.Experience in carrying out small and medium scale user research, which could include designing and analyzing user activities, surveys, and individual and group interviews.Experience with user testing tools, analytics platforms, and strong capability to communicate findings and connect them to product and development stakeholders.Familiarity with working with and contributing to a design system.Excellent leadership and communication skills – with experience communicating design challenges and solutions to executive leadership. Should be comfortable receiving feedback thoughtfully and having tact when advocating for users and articulating design decisions.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position does not have supervisory responsibilities but is expected to mentor new team members and junior level positions.PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the responsibilities of the role, the employee is required to talk and listen.
