Naomi House HospiceWorkplace type: OnsiteAs part of the hospice’s crucial Family Support team, you will be providing a comprehensive psycho-social service to families in complex situations.The Family Support team consists of Head of Family Support, Counsellor, Play Therapist, Social Worker and Chaplain.Our team of professional counsellors offers support to families from the point of referral to bereavement and beyond. As a Family Support Bank Counsellor, your support will be tailored to the very specific needs of the individual.Key Responsibilities:Provide expert counselling services, largely to adults, including regular reviews.Participate in running therapeutic groups for parents and young people as needed.Maintain a minimum of 2-3 clients a week.Deliver services face to face, online, and by phone, based at our hospice.Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:Recognised counselling or psychotherapy qualification and membership with BACP, UKCP or similar.Experience of working with adults, loss and bereavement.Good understanding of palliative care and the impact of disability and life-limiting diagnosis on a family.Excellent communication skills, adaptability, compassion, and self-motivation.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Completion of mandatory staff training including safeguarding.Application for an Enhanced and Barred DBS Disclosure.
